Your ideas are a gold mine for yoyoing.
I don’t think the nipple poses a particular problem here (at least for my thumb). I can hold grinds longer if I can get my nail behind the ledge that is fairly deep into the cup, and the nipple still isn’t in the way.
I couldn’t agree more!
The MR85-W4 works great. I would love to see it employed in larger designs.
But it is such a great fit for this yo-yo! Every thing about the proportions and performance of this design seems balanced to me in a way that I have not found in similarly scaled C and D bearing yo-yos. It feels like playing a top-notch, full-sized organic, but with extra maneuverability that comes with the smaller size and light weight.
In this case it works as a positive.
The concave nipple barely touches when my thumbnail is locked in so I get a big increase in stability versus small increase in friction, I can change axis faster and sloppier without slipping off the thumb
Might just have to snag one of these. Super unique in so many aspects.
I will try to get one of them. Since I saw it for the first time I felt strongly attracted to it. It must be very fun and unique to play:)
Definitely don’t sleep on the lemon, my yoyo brothers and sisters. This is one drop that you certainly do not want to miss!
I couldn’t possibly put it into words better than Collin has here.
The flying lemon is pure gas. Fire. Ecstasy.
Waiting hard for this release. Looks so fun
If you’re worried about them selling out quickly, don’t worry! YYE will have at least 50 of them in stock.
Definitely looking foward to this…
Definitely will grab one if able
Do you know how much they’ll cost?
I agree with HSB’s assessment, it’s still good with thumb grinds. I have pretty meaty hands, so that is problematic for me sometimes on throws, but this one feels great. The diameter of the nip was reduced a little on this from the V1, and the cups are deep enough, that if you throw it at a slight angle, you can hook your thumb in there and it nestles in pretty well. I can still pull it off pretty confidently.
I’d say around $110.
I think you’ll like this one @hobbygod, being a small organic lover yourself.
Really interesting design!
Folks who have played it, does the 4mm gap width bother yall? Use different string?
I’ve played it and the 4mm gap seems very functional to me.
Thicker strings have a little more grab, but it still works quite well overall.
Don’t take it from me though. Let the others chime in.
Does the blast and or coating lend itself to good grinding ability on the skin?
The blast is fine for grinding. I wouldn’t say its amazing yoyo for grinds though.
