Spin top learning curve (it’s not a curve)

It feels pretty tough.

My camera did a crazy shutter speed thing, and it looks kinda cool.

Mail call. 4 inch wooden top from Ed Davidson. It’s beautiful. I can’t wait to destroy it lol. :joy:
Plus I made a new string for my Sara.

Wire walk.

I believe I am calling this top the “Powerline”.

Nice! Try it with just 1 wrap instead of 2.

The first wrap actually got rejected, hence the face

Small combo with a spinning spider.
I’ll list each element in case you want to try. Boomerang, La Caída, el tobogán, spinning spider.

I am so $&@#%^* frustrated today. I have several tricks that I just don’t miss…. Until I try and film them. I have a decent idea on what to use for my ITSA freestyle. I don’t want to be be super boring, but I want to make sure i can catch it on video. Then I go to do it and can’t tie it together. And it’s literally just dumb mistakes in between an actually difficult trick that gets me. That’s the part that is just mind numbingly frustrating. That it’s a stupid catch and not the trick itself!!! :face_with_steam_from_nose:
Ok. Sorry for the rant. Carry on lol. :face_with_tears_of_joy:

Here’s a decent take from practice today. I especially like the roller coasters on this run.

OK sorry for using up all the bandwidth. But @TryCatchThrow made these TPU spin tops and I am completely blown away. The weight is distributed so well. There’s absolutely no wobble and it wire walks for days. It uses a short circuit tip, but maybe a larger string like viper , cobra or Duncan imperial. I could glaze this up all day, but I’m seriously impressed.

I’m so glad you like it! I use one of Dazzling Dave’s #8 strings on it and have liked it just fine but I’m still a beginner. I’ll see if one of my other strings is thicker to try.

I am so in like with this top

Does anyone know what specific screw holds the Short Circuit together (like by name and size)? I could not find a replacement at my local hardware store.

No. Sorry. I can see at some point possibly putting a slightly larger one in to accommodate wear though.
