Smash Bros. Ultimate

I’m super excited to get my hands on Smash Ultimate soon, and was wondering if there is anybody out there that also likes Smash Bros. If you do, then I guess we can all talk about it.

Loved this game ever since I bought it on 64 as a kid. Im not sure if this or Goldeneye got more co-op play. I wish I could be hyped, but I dont have a Switch so yea… Didnt they start adding FF characters to the lineup?

They added Cloud as a DLC character in smash 4. He’s back in ultimate.

Every character from past games is in Ultimate, along with a handful of new ones. I don’t have it yet, but did get a chance to play today. Pretty fun!

Oh yea, they had Marth and Roy in the earlier games. Interesting to see how they implement Clould, but ill probably watch for the sidelines because, no Switch…

Switch is great, maybe the best Nintendo console since the N64 (or even the SNES!) … I love the way it seamlessly bridges the divide between the GBA (portable) and Wii (not-portable) generations and merges the best of both worlds! It even has motion controls (when you detach the controllers).

Really A+++ work by Nintendo on the Switch. I was super skeptical but they knocked it outta the park.

I’m also really excited to try out Ridley and Inkling. They both seem like really fun characters, and both are higher up on the tier list. Been thinking of taking Inkling on as a new main as well (currently I’m a Link main).

The inklings are a lot of fun. You start with the original roster from N64 and you’re constantly unlocking new characters.

Been having a lot of fun the past few days. Hadn’t been hyped by a game in a while. I’m still rusty af cuz I didn’t really play since Brawl in High School but I’m hoping to start kicking ■■■■■■■■■ soon.

Love my switch. In terms of the actual design of the hardware, I think it’s the best console ever made. In terms of games, hands down best console they’ve made since the SNES. I’m a long time JRPG fan, and they just keep cranking these gems out one after the other.

Now that I think about it, if you consider the handheld lines, I would say the N3DS or even the NDS would rival the SNES. If those had been home consoles in the relevant generation (The DS is similar I’m power to the 64, the 3DS is similar to the GameCube, or Wii for that matter) with the same game libraries, they would have blown everything else out of the water.

I think that’s the track the switch is on.

They did a great job on this version of Smash! Really enjoying Link’s updates!

Smash brothers is definitely one of the games of choice in the yo-yo community! We have had some great tournaments at Nationals before - @birdmp3 and @Zach6106 are true pros at smash too!

I just unlocked Young Link the other night (roommate wanted to play Diablo last night so no Smash for me.) and I must say I enjoy he has the original N64 move set.

Also pixelated Pokemon from the original stage is sweet!

One of the biggest game modes in smash ultimate is the story mode (world of light). What’s world of light like? Is it insanely long? Is it really repetitive?

Digging it! Maining Ryu right now but Young Link is great as well - both have good ranged attacks and good recovery moves. Love my Switch!

It has a pretty good amount of variation for what it is, some of the fights are opppresivsely difficult though.
