slippy binds

I guess I forgot to say this but I have tried 100 cotton, 50 50, some made from cotton covered polyester, and a couple different G-strings (not sure what type). I don’t know if G-string is 100 poly but if not then I haven’t tried that, but using the same strings on my other L3 work fine. I don’t happen to have any 100 poly but with my next trade ill try to get some.

EDIT: Pics.

The last one is kind of hard to see but that’s from the side and it sticks out a little bit from the yoyo.

Sorry for the double post but this is a ways back in the list.

I think I am going to just try to get some different silicone. I know that Ace Hardware has the flowable silicone, but would anything from Home Depot, as listed in the following link, work better in terms of grippiness? I don’t really care if it’s hard to put on. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?keyword=silicone&langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

Wait, did you try to thick lube it yet?

No but I don’t have any and I don’t want to risk using anything that isn’t YYJ thick lube, even if other stuff will work. I really don’t know why that would help though because the problem is that the response is slipping.

It could be your bearing problem. When i switched my bearing on my meteor, it stopped slipping binds. My meteor would slip binds a LOT when i changed the bearing into a 10 ball. Once i put some lube in it, it slowed down a bit, but it stopped slipping. Anyway i guess i can’t help you now :frowning:

Ha yeah sorry. But I traded out the bearing on my L3 with the one on my Dark Magic (which binds very snug and tight) as well as on my Spinfaktor (which also binds very snug and tight) and it still happened. Well thanks for trying at least.

Get 100% sili…

Yeah but would any of those ones be better than the regular flowable silicone?

Use Red RTV. Its the same thing you have, but red. I’m not sure Blue will work the same way.

Blue should still work, but I suppose there is no harm in trying red.

I went to an auto store and finally found the actual flowable stuff and put it in and it’s drying so we’ll see how that works. I got lucky because it was the last one there ;D ;D ;D

good luck!

UPDATE: first of all, it’s a great day. Yesterday I won a t-shirt (Thanks again André) and finally found the right silicone. Second of all, I just tried my L3 with the flowable silicone and it works great! Somehow it feels different compared to the other stuff when it was working; I’ll just have to get used to that though because it works great! Thanks guys.

Dang, it really is a good day! Wonder when I get my code.

Haha grats ;D

Well I got a reply in less than 5 minutes so I don’t know, but then again I didn’t have to get a code figured out.
