Sickburn Yo-Yo Workshop Ultem Fixie

The Alt Little Sister might be the first yo-yo that’s actually excited me in a long time.

These all look amazing! Too hard to choose just one…

Hey Blinkin really speaks to me, a lot of them do, but that one looks amazing to me, I bet it will shred. If you remember some of the things that came to mind when making it, please share

I have a tendency to design mostly slimline, I have a type. So I try to challenge myself to design other profiles sometimes. I already did a couple organics, so decided butterfly was the next logical step. Then I remembered the scene from Men in Tights and giggled. Obviously copper was the answer (Hey Blinkin > Abe Lincoln > Penny > Copper) and I hadn’t designed a yoyo for that material yet. First sketches were super heavy so I thinned it out and shrunk it a tad. I wanted it to have a long axle to balance out the weight, so I gave it some nice long posts.

Please take a penny for your thoughts lol

That scene brought back some good memories and thank you for giving us a peak into your brain on that one, it looks awesome.

That’s the ADHD rollercoaster

So, I made a real mess, but it plays beautifully. Drilled the center out of my Caramel v2, and put a walnut axle in.

Sending my production Caramel back to @AudreySickburn so the shop can do it’s magic with it.

Man everything about the caramels is magic I can’t wait to get one in some form just cause the journey has been a story on its own

Delrin No Jive Compatible has a strong lead at the moment so here’s two more polls because this one is a complex project.

First hardware. I might make them all who knows but I want to hear preference. Yes they would work in classic no jives but require a different metal axle than the ones in the old steal nj hardware. These will be m3.

  • Classic flats

Then we have pads. Classic slim 19 pads are shown with the hardware. There is also the option of fat custom pads:

Or raw delrin + turbo discs. Slim 19s will be the easiest to replace and source in the future if something happens to me but custom pads would give more snap.

I resemble this remark!

Spike! Always spike! Really gives me the chance to throwback to high school, pining after all the goths and emos, but never being able to join because all those spikes, buckles, zippers, hair, and makeup were just too much work (I rocked mildly unkempt hair and sweatpants every day for, except Wednesday and even that was too much work)

Also, the fact that so few people voted for an RBC lite means nearly everyone one this thread is a bunch of weenies that hate fun

The part that hollowed out on these, if filled that would put it over weight or was it designed to allow finger grinds or just because it looks cool

With Mk1 making plasm 1.2 I figured there’s something in the way in time with a similar ish shape but you can’t go buy a no jive or anything like it new today or in any near term including stuff like the super yo renegade so the new jive and delrin both seem proper exciting. I’m also not on the hat but I’m aware that’s niche enough I would be throwing my vote into the void and eventually the 3-4 of us that want a hat will get one lol

I also am totally into the big daddy for various reasons but figured I gave plenty of round throws to Todd me over lol

That felt like a long winded way of saying admitting you’re a weenie who hates fun

You make some good points, but unfortunately, you have not convinced me to change my mind

That’s funny. I purposefully tried to avoid copying the RBC when working on that one and design a different bubbly shaped yoyo that aimed to not step on any toes.

It does have the big dip in the middle but I was hoping the gap and profile would be different enough to distinguish itself.

Not visible from the outside but one other difference is weight distribution. It’s not capped and is instead filled with the world’s biggest schmoove to keep its weight down.

LETSGOOOOOOOOO (I’m even more excited having seen the insides)

I am absolutely down for this

In fairness to you, my strange and abstract pattern recognition non-unability saw it. It’s definitely got the genetic underpinnings, but it doesn’t look quite as smooth, which is fine. Also, RBC looks more like two red blood cells stuck together, you’re looks more like someone cut a donut in half down the middle (and after seeing the inside, some madlad just picked at the insides because “I only like the insides of donuts; donut frosting is disgusting)

Man these concepts are making me Drool , it’s so hard to pick just one but l really like the delrin no jive, it’s clean and it’s elegant looking. I also really liked the little sister and the blinkin (l like the little sister more tho).

Honestly can’t wait to see these come into reality someday, also l would love to be a beta tester if you ever need more people :raising_hands:

Love your work Audreysickburn

One more quick poll. I have a few Delrin options available. Maybe I can do a few colorways but maybe not so taking a reading.

I have access to the more traditional white and black, I can get blue. Interestingly I also have access to a Coffee Brown. The brown is Delrin 100AF which is a mix of Delrin and 13% Teflon blended together.

Here’s some rough stock pics. White, black, and blue:

Here’s Coffee Brown

I like the coffee brown the most but am trying to remain impartial and not vote on my own question because that skews the data :joy:
