If someone ever gave me a free No Jive I’d be super stoked to try out those axles in it…:rofl::rofl: kidding except that I don’t have a No Jive. I know. I know.
Those 3/4 Cs look absolutely amazing.

I have acquired a new trademark:

Return Bottoms™

I also own the .com to go with it. :joy: one word no hyphens.

Two halves that make a ball, with bearings on opposite sides and a split string.

Well the caramels were delivered but the majority of the ones I’ve checked so far look… not good. One half on each side of about half the ones I checked looks melted or mushy. They also didn’t bead blast between the gaps in any of them so it’s smooth and slippery in there.

I can’t get my calipers into the gap but suspect it isn’t correct either so I’m 3d printing some gap measuring tools (flat sticks at specific thicknesses) to check the gaps.

Once I’m feeling a little better I’m gonna have to sort them by gap and mush factor and contact the shop because this just isn’t acceptable.

I would classify that as a “YoYo shaped object” tbh

It is vaguely yo-yo shaped. Honestly for cnc machine run parts they are wild because there is not a lot of consistency here. They look like somebody hand turned them all, each one a bit different than the others.

Well that’s sad, have been looking forward to these, I hope they will make it right though! We have patience.

They’re the “Old Caramels from Grandma’s Cookie Tin of Treats and Sewing Equipment”

Considering the comments about needing special tooling, it very well could have been some guy doing it by hand with a sharpened screwdriver and a wood lathe

Aesthetics aside, if they play good, I’m down.

Well, even if they didn’t play good, I’m down, I’ll figure it out lol

The play is okay ish. So they didn’t bead blast the inside so it is a glass smooth axle. Some strings play well, Throw Yo Tincture double looped, a random rayon blend I had double looped. Cotton strings even double looped are completely unresponsive. This is also why I’m suspecting they may have messed the gap up and I have to go measure all 100 gaps. Visibly I can just look at any two random ones I grab and see the gap is vary different between them. So the consistency is not there.

I don’t think I even have the heart to unwrap these all. Each one I unpack is worse.

Bulbous

Misshapen

shanked

Mutilated

I wish they had done better for you, so sorry it didn’t go well. I do hope the manufacturer rectifies in some way
