Hey @Eric_Newlin and @kretzschmar – yes Alebrije is capable to hold any type of C and D bearing. As it has been previously mentioned in some other posts, wooden yoyos (including the Alebrije) with unresponsive bearing vibrates a lot due to any minimal variation in dimensions between the two halves amongst in any other areas that require precision that are very hard to control when using wood.

The Button to me is your finest work that isn’t unresponsive. I regret selling mine in a time of need and it is definitely on my “get again” list when budget permits.
Is the history of the buttons response a unique to you idea or was that already seen in something prior?

The Button response is essentially just an extension on the 4 hole response I was using. The difference is that I drill the holes right through the body. This takes weight out the centre, creates a tiny bit of float and makes it easier to pick knots on the axle.

I have one of your throws with your 4 hole response but I heard you moved onto a 6 hole, what do you find it does better? Was wondering if that button had the 6 hole

There isn’t so much a response difference between the 4 hole and 6 hole, but a difference of te feel of the response when it returns. It feels less ‘lumpy’ when the rssponse engages.
It took a while to get he 6 hole response right. I have only just got it perfect in the most recent couple I’ve made.

I didn’t know of its existence before I made it. I thought it was my original idea until I saw someone post a picture of a yoyo that utilised it earlier. I don’t know what the yoyo was.
