The Superstar looks and plays GREAT! Chuck told me that already, but seeing it in person, there is no comparison. It has this deep dark red and black acid look, such a classy shade of red, almost burgundy. It plays like a dream too, must be the stacks that make it feel like that. Sick throw, I can’t thank Chuck enough for letting me get it…I love it! I updated my case photo too.
Well…I’m still getting a feel for it. These are my initial thoughts. The spin time seems compromised on this one. But, there is this weird feeling you get while playing it, that I’m sure has something to do with the two bearings it takes, being stacked on top of each other. It is smooth, and it is relatively stable…not the most, but definitely smooth. It is also very comfortable in the hand. It plays a LOT heavier than that 63g would dictate. It is not a fast throw, and you can make anything faster, but this will take more effort. This is something you would throw for the “feel” more than the performance, if that makes sense. If you are looking for something with a unique “feel” and don’t mind the spin compromised somewhat…this is it. It was weird taking it apart and seeing two bearings stacked on top of each other. I just lubed them both…strange.
I finally snagged this beauty. It’s prettier than I expected it to be. I made a trip to YYE to pick out my splash, and I think I got the best one available. Now that’s a beautiful YoyoExpert colorway. YoyoFactory is the leading maker of my colors ;D:
Thats awesome. Must be amazing to be able to do that when you want.
Honestly, I has 0 interest in the H.O.T whatsoever until this post, and I’m also not a fan of YYF splashes… but I have to admit… that thing is absolutely gorgeous.
I love that thing. I have a hoard of 4 of them now. YoyoFactory did a great job with that one, but I admit that part of the beauty was picking out the best one out of several left. I love the way the splash seems to be dripping down from the rim inside the cup. Definitely one of the prettiest yo-yos I have. I think I’ll make trips there more often, because it’s so much cooler to have a splash you love.
Also, congrats on the YYE “Y.Y.E.” picture. That is really neat and very impressive. Makes me wish I had a “theme” to my throws instead of just going, “OOO! Pretty and new! Buy it!” Your collection is wonderful.
Thanks N8. Well…it takes a lot of work and money keeping up the YYE collection, but the end results are great from a visual standpoint. I couldn’t fit them all in the box to get a good photo, but I got all the main ones in there. The YYE Token and a few others had to sit that one out. Thanks again.
