Can someone who owns the Shaqler edition of the Loop 900 confirm if it is a “red” yo-yo, or more pinkish? The photo in the store makes it look pinkish, but I’ve seen them look red in other photos. It is the difference between me buying, or not.
I made it myself. I took a red with black caps and white with black caps and swapped halves. I have two of them now. Somehow, to me, it wouldn’t look right with red caps. I’m patiently awaiting Surges with black caps to hit the shelves. I hope to do that again.
I really have been thinking that if I made the YYE color Classics with black caps, perhaps I should give the Surges red caps. That will create more variety in my case. Also, there is already a white Surge with red caps. I’d be half way there.
I agree. this would also be great. TA, you clearly need all the possible combinations. Espoecially at those prices. You could sell off the excess doubles of everything as well. I’m sure others would love to have some YYE themed classics.
In fact, YYE should offer all the YYE combinations, although I understand why they probably don’t.
I agree guys. If I will keep up collecting these, matching halves (caps) will start to get boring after awhile. I have had some interest in the YYE themed Classic. So, I think I will buy that white/red Surge that’s in stock, and just keep an eye on what colors they release in the future.
Sorry to be so delayed responding DrAwesome. I had an “inner struggle” going on. ;D
I remember seeing the Werrd 4XL, and I saw that there was one with a YoyoExpert logo. But, there was no photo of the one with the YoyoExpert logo, so I meant to write to YoyoExpert long ago, and ask if someone could send me a cell phone pic of that version. Also, I had not heard of any reviews on that throw. It’s an interesting design that accepts 2 bearings at the same time.
So anyway, over time, I just kind of forgot about it because it has a “YoyoExpert logo,” but it was not advertised as a YoyoExpert edition. It is all red, without the three colors. But then, if it has the logo…that is enough that it would fit in my case, so I had the dilemma of whether to buy that one or not. So, when you dropped a reminder in here, I had to ask for a photo and see what it looks like.
It turns out, I’m glad I asked, because it has the old YYE logo on it. But, then there was dilemma part two, because if it has the old logo…it is not as nice as the new logo, yet it is more rare to find it on yo-yos than the new one, so that would be a reason to get it. In the end, I ordered that last one, and bought it. Thanks for the heads up that there was one left. It put some fire under me to make a decision and get on top of it. I also grabbed that new YYE color rally, red with the silver ring and that clear Protostar with the black/red acid ring. Those are for my YYE color plastics case. I still have to make a case for the plastics. I only have 9 so far, but they are becoming greater in number. :-\
Thanks again!
By the way, I have been in touch with Chuck in the PMs, he is doing well. The good news is that he decided to sell me his YoyoExpert Edition Superstar, which I believe is the first ever YoyoExpert Edition Yo-Yo. I’m excited to have that in the mail soon. Thanks Chuck (if you’re watching).
I have one. Plays really light and doesn’t spin too long. The double bearing thing is annoying because I can never get two that spin exactly the same, I ended up putting Hubstack orings in the bearng seat and it plays a bit better.
I forgot to mention my apprehension was also after I saw the weigh of it. I was like 60g…huh? But, it will be a case queen anyway, so I figured I’d go ahead and take the plunge. I was concerned about that though.
