Roommates YoYos

My roommate moved out and left these behind. Didn’t know him that well but he seemed to know his yoyos. I think he took the good ones but I was hoping to get something for the ones he left behind. Make me an offer

if i’m not mistaken, there’s definitely a handful of decent pieces scattered about, which makes me wonder why someone would just leave those…

Definitely just send them back to your roommate. Not cool at all to try and sell off their stuff. Could be as simple as forgetting them (I’ve forgotten way more obvious and expensive things in my life)

I’ve tried texting him but he doesn’t answer me back he also had boxes of other yoyos so I was thinking these are just the ones he didn’t want.

Some of those are worth too much money to just leave behind. If they have this many of them and even more they left with I doubt they’d leave that much money sitting on a wall

No you didn’t.

for context he moved out mid March. He is pretty well off and maybe a couple hundred dollars doesn’t matter to him. he had hundreds of yoyos and took 99% of them

While there are plenty of cheaper yo-yos here that I believe someone would leave behind, there are a few expensive ones that no sane person would just abandon. Keep making an effort to get in touch with your roommate.

In case it wasn’t obvious to any prospective buyers, proceed with caution… and ideally not at all from an ethical standpoint, even if this isn’t a total scam. For whatever reason there is some major sketchiness going down on the BST lately and this seems like another case.

Even if you can mentally get past someone selling someone else’s stuff without permission… I’d still ask for a name & date on a piece of paper in front of the collection.

This collection is looking very… Arizonian/Southwest United States to me based on a couple yoyos and the large YYF presence. Anyone from around there missing a collection or recognize these?

Side note: is there any way we can we please implement some kind of account age/post number minimum in order to use the BST section of the site? I feel like it would deter a lot of the “brand new account here’s some yoyos for sale” scammer nonsense we’ve been seeing on here recently. @AndreBoulay

idk people usually don’t collect without developing some sort of sentimentality towards their collection, especially if they have a nice little wall cubby for them lol

100% don’t just sell or throw them out yet

pls triple check that your roommate is okay and in-fact intended to abandon their collection

I don’t know any yoyo-er that would leave a perfectly good soda crate behind…

Hey! Long time no see! It was nice living with you! I just saw this post and realized that I left these behind accidentally. Please ship them back to me, thank you

I’ll buy them all for $500. I will send my guy by to pick them up this evening. He will bring you a check for $10,000 but he will need you to cash it since he’s not from the US and doesn’t have ID. You can keep $1,000 of it for your troubles.

You can trust me, I’m a Nigerian Prince.
