On family vacation we took a trip to the Bay Area then Yosemite. But the best part for me was on the way home. We had a couple days to make our way home so we decided to swing by the National Yo-yo Museum in Chico.
It was amazing! Well worth the trip. The world’s largest public display of yo-yos. They had every yo-yo I could think of. Many I had never seen.
Then I got the idea to stop by One Drop. It was on the way home! I emailed them and David was very nice and allowed us to stop in and Andrew gave us the tour of the shop.
My favorite was the Citizen #1.
What a beautiful trip.
I must have asked a few hundred questions and David and Andrew were super cool and answered every silly question. Super nice dudes I would love to hang out with again.

that sounds super cool, thanks for all the photos too it’s really awesome to see it!
There were so many prototypes and one off custom yo-yos. I must have sat and stared for at least a few minutes before I could make a decision on what to play with first. So fun.
I enjoyed the photos very much. My brother won one of the patches shown in the display case with the Goody display. It was back in the 50s. Duncan sponsored neighborhood tournaments. That’s one of the reasons Duncan will always be first in my mind.
I got a shirt, yo-yo and YYF case for 2 at the museum. I didn’t buy anything at One Drop because they didn’t mention sales, but after I left I ordered a diorama and green ultralight side effects. David at OD must have noticed my order and sent me a nice email thanking us for stopping by and gave me a discount. Super nice
Yeah, no store. It’s just a small machine shop and office. The office is also the assembly and shipping area. I don’t think they are normally open to the public but were nice enough to invite us over when I emailed them.
Yes. It’s in the back of the Bird in Hand store
Which is a fantastic toy store. They didn’t have a huge selection of yo-yos for sale but they had a ton of YYF beginner throws and in a case some higher end YYF and Duncan’s. The rest of the store has just about every other toy imaginable. We got my stuff a new YYF One for my son and a few puzzles and games for the family. Great place.
If you like the vintage Duncan stuff, have you seen the Gentry Stein tour of the museum on YouTube? https://youtu.be/Wxk-8magfBo
They let him play with a bunch of cool vintage yo-yos and give some history. It’s a nice guided tour.
Cleaning out the trailer I found my Father’s Day presents that I stashed away for safe keeping.
A super cool vintage Duncan patch that I’m very tempted to put on a nice old school cardigan, and custom branding irons with my initials. Now I need to make more fixed axles and other things to brand.
