Onedrop museum

Some of y’all may have seen the project I’ve been working on with onedrop to catalogue the collection in the playable museum at the shop in Eugene, Oregon. If you haven’t, check it out on instagram at @onedropmuseum

I spent some time taking archival photos yesterday, as well as taking requests for things people wanted to see from the collection. Here are some of those requests:

Archive wise, I just made it through the first drawer of the collection. The first five drawers are all onedrop, and below that is when we get into things like what you see above. Follow along for deeper dives into some of these legendary and iconic designs. If you visit onedrop you can play with any of these yo-yos. I highly recommend it.

Am I right that there’s some kind of Cerakote red-black fade Terrarian in there?

There’s a few unique powder and cerakote terrarians in there. Mostly samples and tests that didn’t work out. Too vibey. I’ll get some pics next time.

Ohh nice. Any idea when this one was made?

This engraving raises the question: were there really more than 14 iterations of this prototype? And why is its price written on it in yuan?

What the heck is this anodisation?

This one looks familiar. Was it some kind of custom anodised one?
