A while back, I messed up my (first run) G5’s axle in an attempt to remove a dead bearing. I’ve been scouring the internet for a replacement axle, but have been unable to find any. Does anyone know if these things still exist? If not, is there anything I can do about it? I’ve heard that the new axles do not fit(the ones on YYE), though if I’m wrong, let me know. Thanks
Take it to the hardware store and look for a set screw of the right size. If you can’t find a set screw get a normal screw and cut the head off. File the cut end smooth. Don’t force a screw to fit.
I believe the G5 used a 4mm x .7 mm pitch set screw, 20 mm long.
