Use a clean pencil eraser! Nothing works better on laser engravings, doesn’t damage the engraving or the aluminum.

I would agree on the eraser suggestion… But, make sure it is a fresh/new eraser and not an old non-soft eraser.
Personally, I get better results with a little bit of toothpaste on the tip of a soft cloth or even a Kleenex.
That method has the added feature of giving your yo-yo fresh breath…
