Where you hit your yoyo (usually with metal yoyo) on an unwanted surface then it leaves a mark o even gash in the metal.
A ding is an imperfection on the yoyos surface that was caused by it hitting something. A ding does not go through the color or ano. It is simply a dent in the yoyos surface that was caused by the player when he/she accidently whacked the yoyo against something.
