i got the red/black small bearing genesis here at yoyo expert. after 10 minutes of play the string starts to get cut by the responce area. there is an empty gap on the outside of the responce and i dont know what it is for. can someone help. has anyone had simular priblems?
Feel around the response area, if you feel something sticking out then it’s most likely cutting the string. You can try sending it back to YYF to get it fixed.
My guess is that that empty gap is the schmoove rings, but i could easily be wrong as I dont have one. I have heard that schmoove rings increase spi times slightly but also slightly decrease the strings life-span
Schmoove makes there be a little less area for the string to touch, but it won’t affect the string’s life unless it is sharp on the edges.
Contact YYF about it after you do what Shisaki said: feel around the inside of the yoyo for bumps or just anything sharp around there.
