So I participate in a Bike Party event once a month where at each stop we chill/party for 45 minutes to an hour and the Flow Arts come out in full force. The yoyo is sadly not represented. I’ve tried throwing - but in the dark have a hard time seeing my yoyo and my string - and that doesn’t attract any interest either.
So - looking for small, battery powered, blacklight options that people have used and know work well. I’ve considered a blacklight headlight and I’ve also seen a pod I could sit on the ground and shine up at me - but not sure if either alone will be good enough.
Also - why is there not more BL reactive throws out there? what’s your favorite throw in this category?
Yeah that is always the hard oart of being a fan of yoyo in black light, that in rhe wikd it is hard to see.
I do think light up yoyos have more potential in the wild, though. The probkem is you cant light the string. A portable lantern or something with a black light could work.
I’ve been contemplating getting one of the Yomega Spectrum light up ones. I usually close the store I work at, so I end up standing outside after dark throwing and I think it would look reeaaallly cool doing my looping tricks. I’d love to hear some recommendations about the ones you’ve gotten/tried if you’ve got the time. I’ve heard good things about the glow in the dark Freehand as well, but haven’t tried it either.
The One Drop Wyvern with UV Reactive Cerakote is amazing!!! I’m so excited about it.
I have a MagicYoYo Aurora light up - it’s cool. My batteries have died so I need to get new batteries - and I still have the string issue (not being able to see it).
So I’m back to my own thread here…I don’t know if I’m allowed to post a link to a FB Reel - but here is a video of my setup in use in an Abandoned building. 2 4" Cube Lights and a headlamp. the Wyvern in the UV Cerakote is AWESOME!
Now I need a UV Reactive Counterweight. Looking for any suggestions.
I just picked up the new Fenix E06R and it’s working great for a portable light. I got it for other reasons but works for both charging up my GitD Freehand and just general playing light.
The lot I sent to Steve didn’t have much that was UV reactive, and I think the few that were have been claimed over Feb.
Most of the Gobblers above are gone already too, I’ll try to find a dark enough spot to photograph what’s left.
I have a pair of the Yomega Spectrum EX, and they are soooo much fun in the dark.
The regular Spectrum is a Fireball (transaxle) with single color lights inside. The Spectrum EX is a Raider EX (ball bearing and a set of spacers you can use the adjust the gap) with multi-color LEDs.
