Anyone else into Pokemon cards? I just rediscovered collecting them about a month ago and I’m really into it. Been having a lot of fun collecting and growing my collection…makes me feel young again!

Hopped back into Pokemon about a year or 2 ago. Tis indeed fun. Tcg collecting is as fun as you make it. Good luck on your future rips. 
Sadly I sold my collection over a decade ago which would be worth 10x more what I got for it, but I’m really pumped for Pokémon pocket tcg game coming out Oct 30!
I tried getting into them… but I decided one expensive hobby is enough.

I never really got out of pokemon and i’ve been playing since red/ blue were the only games out. The TCG came along with that, i haven’t bought cards in forever but i was heavy into the actual TCG for gen 1 and 2. The games and pokemon in general i have and will always love. Currently heavy into playing PokeMMO and Black. the TCG gameboy game is one of my favorite games of all time.
I love and miss the TCG with actual cards but at 33 years old now… i have no one to battle. I did keep all of my pika evolution cards though, got a pretty good pika collection.
I was 7 years old when pokemon came out, perfect age to suck me in for life.

You just described my relationship with pokemon. I go through phases that turn my attention to other hobbies. Golf, guns, ping pong, now yoyos but i always jump back into pokemon. I have noone to battle anymore either but i still have my decks ready to go and my binder ready to show off.

Yeah I gave all my old cards to my wife‘s little brother about 9 years ago. A little bummed but at least he’s enjoying them and I hope he keeps them forever

Yeah I’ve never really stopped playing any of the games. I was around the same age as you when I got my first gameboy and pokemon game

Yeah my big ones are golf and Pokemon cards. I actually have been having so much fun with the cards that I made a TikTok last week making fun videos. It has been great
I was really into the card game and deck building, I entered a few game battle competitions when it was really hot. It was a lot of fun, I was also a magic the gathering instructor and did comps with that as well. I was also super into the video games up until ruby came out. I sold and traded most of my (875) cards and games on the YYN forums years ago. The super rare foils and 1st editions I kept in a booklet and ended up selling those at a later date. Unfortunately I didn’t get what I should have for them and really wish I had kept them now haha!
I have been on the hunt for Red, blue, yellow and tcg for the game boy but, boy oh boy have the prices skyrocketed on them! It’s nuts and totally NOT worth it. $60-$100 for a game that sold 31.5 million copies is just absurd to me. Unfortunately the covid lockdowns caused folks to spend ridiculous amounts on these games and it caused the second hand market to skyrocket. It also spurred up a huge counterfeit market as well and now there’s tons of reproduction carts that are being pawned off as real ones to unassuming customers.
Hopefully the prices will drop on them so I can scoop them up because my OG game boy is itching to play them haha!
