When this happened to me, I got a the end 2 and didn’t play anything else for several months. It was actually a great time. It’s when I discovered my “style” and I progressed a lot. I’ve found that plateaus happen a lot. That’s when you want to just dial in what you already know. Trust me. There’s always another trick to discover.

For me it has gotten increasingly difficult to follow along with tutorials so I have recently just turned to what I will call… investigative discovery. I get into a mount and just try to imagine what can be done from there and try it out… to see what happens. It has removed the internal insistence to find the next trick and replaced it with simple curiosity. I’m also getting rather consistent with the first half of Black Hops. I like this one and tricks like it because it’s more like a personal challenge every time. Both of these are shifts in perspective that have helped me to not so much feel in a rut.

Checkout Mrmatio, and “DiegoBYoyothings” on YouTube, their tutorials alone helped me progress, they offer unique tricks and they have stuff at all skill levels.

I can’t follow along with tutorials either. It feels like homework. I’ve always hated homework 
Very astute.
When I stopped worrying about getting better than others, and started only trying to bet better than myself from yesterday, the progress skyrocketed.
Also, all those throwers, that you think are “better” than you, have probably been throwing a lot longer than you.
I’ve seen you do crazy stuff that I couldn’t even have dreamed about when I was only a year into throwing. Tower on a responsive yoyo? At a year in, I would’ve laughed at your face and told you that’s absolutely just not possible.

Idk if it helps but I got a playlist for my tutorials ranked by difficulty, here’s the lvl 1 for them. Granted the difficulty does range quite a bit with this playlist but hopefully it helps give a bit of structure with what to learn before going to a harder trick on the other playlists yk?

Believe it or not, that was 100% you that inspired trying that out. Your video showing what a bone stock FH1 could do spurred me to try one out, love that yoyo now. And I was following along your TTT back then

I love this I am advocate of sharing the bloopers and tries.
When I used to film my tricks I would make a point to get some good b roll and funny shots, I would hope it would help at least one person not get discouraged
We learn more from our mistakes after all
