PTFE falls somewhere between shopping cart wheel and hardhat at around 60 shore d scale. It has good impact resistance. It is so slippery there might be some danger of the blank free spinning though.

Ultem and A bearings pulled ahead. I pulled the trigger on them with the machine shop. Will get to me in early September and then I’ll test them out and see about stocking them.
if they go well I’ll see about other bearing sizes.

Okay I’m gonna pass this off Tuesday when I’m back from my short vacation. Short and long if it. I love the yoyo it’s very nice I have no major gripes except I do think we need to shrink that gap as It slips allot on hard throws and can have kickback. Another option would be slight weight reduction so it has less kickback on a hard throw but that’s my only gripes.
Generally rough fat string works best in this thing

Let me know what strings you think work best after your time with it and if you would want to do 100-200 strings to ship with a production model? That’s a lot of strings so no pressure lol.
Your thoughts on the gap and response? So far I’m hearing tighten the gap but I’m looking to get feedback from everyone who tested it before I do a possible second proto run.
Hasn’t gotten to me yet, but once I know we can figure it out! That amount of strings is no issue.

Should You Do V2: Yes, but that’s just like my opinion, man. I think it needs some tweak to improve response consistency (either closed gap or larger holes or other response).
Fave String: I found the strings in the box a bit slippy for the throw. I wound up playing OTS Normal, which is my bulk standard.
Thoughts
Pros:
- Love the shape
- Love the handfeel
- Love the style
Cons:
- Response too inconsistent. Played fine at high speed but too slippy at low speed. I tried double looping, bee balm, both, double loop and stretch string, and nothing got a consistent solid response at low speed.
