I almost never refer to yoyos as “throws”. The person’s ability to throw a yoyo. Better?
It was perfectly clear to me, particularly given the context.
Some yo-yos can’t put up with a bad throw such as X-Con, ENEME, and yes the Phenomizm

Every yoyo demands a slightly different throw. I had to adjust my throwing style to make my Avalanche smoother.
I’ll agree with the one that said make a video. Make a video using two different yoyos then we can see.
even with vibe, a yoyo will generally sleep for longer than 20 seconds with a good throw. Which by that, I’m implying it’s the throw, not the yo. as others have said, record a video of the problem. Defects with yoyos do happen, but it’s rare. especially with a yoyo that’s injection molded.
Are the metal rings on it flush with the rest of the yoyo? I remember them starting to separate from the plastic occasionally happening with my phenomizm.
