New children’s book (7-9), Pedro’s Yo-Yos - How a Filipino Immigrant Came to America and Changed the World of Toys, coming to bookstores April 30, 2024.
Written by Rob Peñas and illustrated by the incomparable Carl Angel. A book that has been in the works since Carl reached out to me by way of the Museum of Yo-Yo History website in 2017.

I love the nostalgia of yo-yos , I’m 65 and started yo-yoing in Toronto Ontario in 1966, and by 1969-70 , I finally won a local National Yoyo contest , and was presented with my prizes by Al GALLO , PRESIDENT of National yoyo of Canada , he started as a Cheerio Champion demonstrator in the 50’s , and evolved from there . He talked about Pedro all the time at the yoyo meets , says that it was all because of Pedro , that we’re all having fun with the yoyo.
