ok first and foremost, since my experience with this design is with linear and the linear is a mono of the perpetual, theres an obvious weight to balance ratio change and difference for me. with that being said i feel theres a trade off happening here. the stability of the perpetual has ramped up HARDCORE from the the stability of the linear. however, and this very well could just be the bearing in it, it doesnt feel as powerful in the spin itself. it feels like its slowing faster than the linear does. i will swap bearings a here momentarily and see if it does the same on the bearing i have in my linear. over all its does feel a bit heavier which isnt a bad thing and adds a different level of play to it which is still very enjoyable. in the little time ive thrown it so far i feel its less something that supersedes its brother and more something that compliments it. both wonderful designs that each excel in something the other does not, truly 2 sides of the same coin in this case. the fit and finish as per usual is phenomenal and the red is insanely vibrant on the shiny finish. as i get more time with it im sure there will be nuances to it ive not noticed yet and minor changes to opinions but i wanted to share my immediate thoughts first before anything could change as a good example of first impressions

Edit:

i did end up swapping bearing with my linear and i think my initial statement still stands. the linear does have more power in the spin which is a wild thing to think as its a mono vs the bimetal of the perpetual. they truly do play perfectly off each other though as a beautiful balance of yin and yang almost each does better what the other does lesser. all in all the perpetual is a wonderful throw and i am quite enjoying it in its own mechanics thus far

So, now that ive had her long enough to get a real feel for her i think im ready to put some real formed thoughts to her without a comparison. im not the most skilled thrower to ever exist but thankfully i have enough skill to be able to ascertain the way a yoyo plays… well at least for me lol.

the perpetual is a fast and agile throw. it throws with a bit of a heft to it which works perfectly for how it plays. over all it performs where i want it to and when i want it to. i do not feel like im fighting against the yoyo at all and that it works with me instead of against me. she is very stable and feels very good for rail combos. her overall hand feel is quite comfortable with i nice finger sized gap that allows my middle finger to rest quite comfortably in the groove without feeling squished lol.

the only negative thing i would say is shes not as powerful as im used to so i have to be a bit faster with tricks to not lose spin time. how ever this could very well be a me thing as well since ive been primarily playing D’s for a little while now.

all in all it has been a very enjoyable throw and im quite glad to have been able to be a part of this. i dont need weeks on end on my side to get a feel for a yoyo and decide if its for me or not so i will be reaching out to the next person on the list and getting it ready for shipping out tuesday or wednesday. ill get some pictures tomorrow as well and add them to the thread.

thanks again @JEA86 for putting this together mate! @rockstar about to send you a DM mate

It is super cool that people share their throws with others through Pay it Forwards like this one. It’s only possible because of the integrity of the community members. It’s nice to see the respectful way that people like you and so many others have treated these PIFs. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I wanted get this down on paper after my first impressions with the Motion! I would not use it for beginners you’d need binding down for sure…… a lot of plastics for that…
On my first throw after I wrapped a fat kitty string around its bearing…. which I found pleasingly quite! A nice change…… the powerful feel was immediate you can tell even the rock feel at the end…… stable is able on this baby so smooth on the string…. Can fly or purr whatever you like……tight strong binds after multi-layer tricks! Fun throw by all means…. The most uncomfortable throw with V designs leave my hands/palms hurting…… but
this throw has rims made of what? But, it feels a little better than steel rims too I would say that it’s the best in hand feel from a.V designed throw

Big Thank you @StitchedSteel for pointing out my error posting!! :eyes::pray::sunglasses::+1:

The perpetual has indeed landed safely but I’ve been out of town and the Yoyo has been at my house. I’ll post pictures and my thoughts in a bit. It came Tuesday as I was leaving town so next Tuesday will be the end of my 2 weeks.

Hey my apologies to everyone I totally spaced and it’s way past my time to pass this on. @Upmanyu go ahead and pm me your address and I’ll get this sent on.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to play with this Yoyo as much as I would have liked but that’s mostly my own fault as I got a good number of new throws in the mail that took playing priority over this one. However, I did get plenty of play time to collect my thoughts on it.
As someone who has had a chance to try a few motion yo-yos now (the centrifugal, elevated, parallel, and now the perpetual) I continue to be impressed by their product. This was really cool to see their first release and see how some of their later models have take’s inspiration from it.
As far as play goes it definitely plays pretty fast. Like a lot of motion yo-yos is very light and zippy and nimble but still having a ton of performance. It has a rather large diameter for a narrow Yoyo which took a bit to get used to, but the feeling on the end of the string is phenomenal. I think a Yoyo that I could best compare it to as far as design and play would be the mowl surveillance.
I conclusion I think this Yoyo is really good, motion definitely started off with a bang and hasn’t looked back. I personally think I liked some of the other motion models I tried more though, nothing at all against this one it just is a bit outside my personal preference. I think motion set the bar a bit too high for me because They have blown me away with the others I have tried and when this one was merely very good it naturally falls a bit lower.
I’m excited for other people to get a chance to try this as well and so I’ll send it on hopefully tomorrow if I can.
Thanks once again to @JEA86 for organizing this PIF and for creating such and awesome brand that continues to create amazing throws!

Different colorway than the PIF one. But thought this might still be enjoyable it being a Perpetual.

So it seems as if we are coming up on an international participant, I am wondering if it might be best to do all the international at the end of the circuit to avoid it crossing oceans needlessly wondering what others opinions are, additionally depending on where the next person is it can add quite a bit of cost to this PIF shipping
