I think any of the new tech 3a tricks are pretty insane. Thinking about practicing again!
Will we see the release of the Maple Kendama?
Highlight Yellow FTW
Favorite material used to be Delrin, but its definitely Maple wood now.
Hey Ardeus! I’ll be attending and sponsoring the Singapore National yoyo contest.
I get asked this a lot actually. The older models are now retired. I plan on releasing updated models reminiscent of older designs. For example: Milky is releasing in August, and Creamy will early next year.
That’s awesome, @Crucial_Paul. You’re everywhere!
thanks for taking the time to answer the questions! i always thought it was a shame that so many questions go unanswered in these giveaway threads, but I’m genuinely interested in the answers
How many prototypes did you end up going through, and did the shape change much from your initial drawings?
What change/advancement in yoyos has been most impactful for you personally?
Where is the name „crucial“ coming from? Is there a story behind it?
Will possible following throws also be called by the material type that they are made out of?
What do you find to be the biggest challenge when designing this throw over an aluminum?
Have you thought about or tried to resin stabilize the maple? I am really curious how it would play. I really want to stick one in my vac chamber and stabilize it haha!
It’s awesome to see Paul back! I had the OG Milk and OG cream, they were awesome delrins! Definitely interested to see how the Maple plays!
I guess a follow up question, provided it’s super successful, will this be a regular release or is it a limited time release?
What were the main design/production challenges with the Maple? Did anything go surprisingly well?
The yoyo looks great - congrats on the release!
What is your favorite era of yoyoing?
If you could only use one yo-yo for the rest of your life and eat only one meal forever—what would be your signature throw and your ride-or-die dish?
2004 Michigan State contest. You just got done doing your demo, you think the music stopped and the crowd gets a special message at the end of your freestyle. What was going through your mind when you heard that? I was 14 years old when that happened and I think about it a lot
when/why did you decide to make an unresponsive wood yoyo?
Did you have to design/make your own laminate for this project or were you able to source something that already existed that was consistent enough to machine yoyos from?
