Our first release from Zero Gravity - The BASILISK!

From Zero Gravity: The creative design for this yoyo was inspired by an amazing creature called the Basilisk. This little green lizard is capable of running on water by keeping the center of mass within the theoretical region of stability.

We wanted to make a yoyo that somehow captures the elements of those lizards: Agile and fast with a centre of mass that provides great stability. The final design is a traditional V-shape with a hint of U-shape that brings more weight towards the rims for more stability and reduces friction between the string and cup. We machined it out of 7003 aluminum which allows us to design thinner walls and to bring that weight in key areas to improve performance and stability.

We gave the Basilisk a 4.6 mm gap to improve unresponsiveness and competition level string tricks. We also wanted to keep the diameter within the 55 mm and the width within the 45 mm range in order to obtain a yoyo that feels comfortable, fast and good for horizontal play (that is also why we included a finger spin hub that is amazing!).

Releasing 2/13 @ 8PM EST.

AL7003 is part of the 7000 aluminum alloy series.

It is not as dense as 7075 or 7068. Its density is 2.75 gr/cm3 whereas the density of 7075 and 7068 are 2.80 and 2.85 respectively.

If you want to see it this way, it is something in between AL 7075 and 6061 in terms of density.

It definitely feels more like a 7075 or 7068 rather than a 6061 throw.

I think TopYo uses it a lot too
