I enjoy miniature painting.

As in, painting miniatures. In case that’s confusing haha.

Besides yo-yo, I do some drawing—cartooning, especially, is my favorite. I do a comic every now and then, which is lots of fun.

I’m also sort of a self-taught piano dilettante. I don’t take that too seriously, though—just having fun with it.

I think there’s enough of us for a yo-yo BJJ side tournament at Nationals if you can make it next year.

I have a brown belt in BJJ, GB affiliated, but stopped training with a Gi years ago, then got seriously into the bareknuckle boxing.

I’ve been a boxing and mma coach for many years, but last year when I hit 50 I hang my gloves for good. It was my job, but I could also called it a hobby, cos I didn’t have anything else going on besides that.

I had a very difficult time adjusting to my ā€œnewā€ life and leaving the old one behind.

Riding BMX, Hiking with my dog, listening to music, watching movies, yoyo, helped me a lot with that. And of course, you lot!! I come here everyday to learn something new, or just to have a lough. Happy to be a part of this community!

Take care everyone and have a great Sunday!

P.s.: I apologize for any grammatical errors, English is not my first language.

My main synth setup but I also have the Korg Volca Key and Volca Bass which are also really great sounding. Additionally I have a Moog Werkstadt, a couple Pocket Operators and Casino Casiotone 403, which is an electric organ/groove machine type keyboard, that can make some really epic pads if ran through some delay and reverb.

Drum machines are the Volca Drum (see a pattern here?) and PO 12 Rhythm.

For me - visiting theme parks, making virtual theme parks (planet coaster 2), retro video games and video games in general, fishing, and music (guitar, bass, uke, chip tune, synths).

My uncle had a great side-business painting miniature lead soldiers for Spaulding’s in Chicago. He would research the uniforms and the armies he was asked to build and deliver entire divisions to clients like Malcolm Forbes, who would get together with other rich guys (maybe ladies too?) and recreate famous battles.

Beautiful. I’ve always wanted to do synths and keyboards. Especially a nice weighted 88 key. I’m finally learning guitar this year though. I’ve played for a decade but I have no idea what I’m doing. I just know it sounds good enough lol.

I have no idea anymore. I used to do leather working and I’m hoping to hop back in. I’m eyeing some shell cordovan right now but I’m not good enough for that quite yet. I used to travel a lot. Not anymore. I’m hoping to actually learn guitar. I’ve played for years but I don’t know what the notes are or what key I’m in. We’ll see if I stick to that. It’ll probably go by the wayside like everything else. It’s kinda taking everything in me to just exist right now.

I’ll never forgive him

Awe man. I miss MTG. I used to play it with my cousin every weekend. Walked in on a few Friday Night Magics and did a prerelease for Ixalan. I moved though and it’s been 5 years since I had anyone to play with. My cousin comes by every so often though and after some googling of the rules we hop right back in. Before the move I was considering hopping into pauper to save some cash and get some weird combinations going.

My buddy gave a me a big box of ā€œdraft chaffā€ that I’ve been flipping through trying to build more or less pauper decks because there are no legendaries or anything really that great. I put together a blue deck that focuses on cheap flying creatures and bouncing creatures back into opponents library or tapping them.

They got me (and my wife) in by buying us an Avatar starter box, since we both adore Avatar the Last Airbender, and it’s been a good time. We had a chance to learn it when we were down with COVID for a week, which was honestly a bit challenging. Same buddy then bought a player booster box which we split and then had our first draft night, my wife no lie pulled the most expensive card in the player box set, non-holo borderless Badgermole Cub, shortly after my buddy pulled the holo one lmao, it was nuts.

We are still very slow at the game, but it is a great way to spend a night

I also love playing MTG. I’m terrible at it, but it’s still fun. Also, it’s pretty hard to be good at it when the person you play knows your strategies and also knows that you’re too lazy to learn/adapt/adopt new strategies and builds decks against it.

I will say tho, he does create some creative decks and some of my losses were pretty entertaining. For what it’s worth, we didn’t play modern. It was usually EDH or ā€œWhatever was funā€

I’ll never forget the overrun of the 10k+ squirrel tokens or the goats

It was called cardboard crack in the 90s for a reason!

Yeah I am completely new to the entire concept of how to play the game, so I have been BTFO at nearly every single match, but I did get a couple incredible Arena (online) wins, one of which had me practically jumping up and down, I had to take a walk lolol

MTG used to be my main hobby when I was in hs/college. I took a finely tuned Splinter Twin list to like 2-4 weekly tourneys a week at the peak of modern. I was top 8ing regularly because I knew my deck, the meta, and I always played to my outs (of which I had many) I loved being the scary combo deck that could also just slowly kill you with a 2/1 flier while you worry about getting comboed.

Then they banned twin and it was all downhill. Couldn’t find my playstyle anymore and just played RUG tempo for a while, through the breach Emrakul was fun but not quite as good as twin. Eventually sold out and bought a beefy gaming pc in like 2019. I recognize that the mtg that exists now is basically completely alien from what I knew. I don’t like the crossover stuff either so that pushed me out as well.
