I am currently in the middle of learning this trick and I know I will have questions so I made this thread so I can get a little clarity in certain parts

I had the same problem before, and I think you are making the same mistake I made.
Make sure in the first part(after the pop) you swing out with your throwhand and non-throwhand thumb on the correct string. I might sound odd but look carefully where his thumbs are.
Make sure that after you swing out, the string is already making a green triagle-ish formation.
other than that, just keep looking closely at each step and make sure your string looks right exactly right for every step.
