Orange Pleak Art

I received an orange Plastic Peak recently, and decided to go down a rabbit hole and found the original Plastic Peak thread. I saw that a few who had bought white ones were dying/painting/drawing on them to make them look like OG Levi peaks, which FTR I think is absolutely baller.

I’m wondering if a brown marker on the orange Pleak would work well. I understand that bc the plastic is dyed already that color options are quite limited, but does anyone have any thoughts? Recommendations? Pleak/Peak pics, maybe??? :eyes:

This will be my first CLYW and now that I’m learning about the legend of the Peak, I can’t help but want to give this a shot. Help a man out? Initiate me!

i’ve dyed a pleak but not sure how well marker would work, seems like it would eventually just wipe off or fade, even permanent marker.

@yogurt took a marker to the white one he got when it first dropped. This actually was my inspiration

People have painted Pleaks, from the CLYW Discord user crawlcrawlcrawl

Black or Brown on Orange would probably look cool like the woodgrain Levi

That’s it! That’s the one he did! Does anyone know the kind of marker he used?

I assume these would probably work, might have to touch it up and let them cure.

Its a plastic Yo-Yo, so have fun with it

Yeah haha I was just playing around with it, did it with a normal marker, and I wouldn’t recommend doing so if you want it to stay on

You could clear coat it with a satin clear coat at the end, might be an interesting texture if you can get it to stick to the plastic.

These Paint Markers from Dykem are suppose to be good for plastic

I recommend masking the mountain design and then dying it with Rit dye. That way it won’t rub off.

Just curious. How does the plastic peak throw? It kinda looks like the same organic shape as a Peakhand/Freehand. Just curious as I don’t own a Peak.

I can’t say that much, bc it’s currently locked up until my birthday, lol. But I did get to test it before surrendering it. It has that full feeling in the hand that plastic Luftverks are known for. The Snow Tires it comes with ensures a snappy response. Because it is organic, pure performance is not the focus. That said, it is not a huge punisher when it comes to sloppy play, but of course, since it’s plastic, it may not have as much spin time as you may like. Since it’s oversized, and since I did not get to play with it very much, I never noticed a significant lack of power. Going slower is definitely encouraged when playing with this yoyo. Feels>performance. Somebody please give their experience as they have far more that I do currently!

Pretty much summed it up really, floaty/ good hang time when given a good swing, comfy shape, I miss mine. I gave it away, as I used it to teach a friends kid to bind with it and she was stoked, so I let her keep it.

I want a clear purple or black.

Translucent black is still in stock, if you can scrape the funds together
