Opinions on the G2 SL1000?

The specs on this yoyo seem crazy… 48.7g for a fullsize. A super ultralight throw is intriguing to me, but it also seems to be posted on bst fairly regularly. Is it just too light for it’s own good?

I can’t really find any reviews discussing how it plays outside of G2s promotional material. Anybody own one that wants to discuss its play characteristics? Good or bad

Very niche yo-yo. Super light obviously. Very playable still with the full size.

Edge can be a bit sharp on the return.

Thanks for the reply! To clarify, I really appreciate how extreme the design is. Just wanted to see if there’s something I’m missing about it’s play characteristics before seeking one out

I just listed my plasmaberries SL1000 this morning. But ONLY bc i have another on the way. Thats probably the case with most of the ones youve seen for sale, duplicates. I do prefer a little more heft but the SL1000 is a great yoyo.

It is FAST and AGILE AF, I think that goes without saying due to the weight but man does it like to move. its got more than enough spin time to get through everything I was able to throw at it, and way more. its fairly stable due to the size and placement of the SS rims. good yoyo, but definitely niche. its something i reach for more rarely, but its a fun yoyo.

Hows it compare to the GBP?

GBP feels more relaxed even though the weight is so similar. the weight distribution on the SL1000 turns it into a more performance forward model.

thats been my experience comparing the two
