Onedrop Warlock vs Atmos Butterball vs CLYW Beater

I’m looking for a large and agile organic-shaped yoyo. How would you compare the One Drop Warlock, the Atmos Butterball, and the CLYW Beater? Even if you don’t own all of them, could you share why you like the one(s) you have?

I had a Warlock and a Beater.

While I don’t have them anymore, it’s not because they were not good. They were both great.

Beater had more of an old school feel, which I prefer. Warlock more modern, probably better performance but splitting hairs.

Can’t do bad with either, pick whichever looks cooler to you

Honestly I think the warlock is a crazy good yoyo, I haven’t thrown a butterball personally but it blows the beater out of the water. The weight (62g) on the warlock is deceptively light, and I would say it definitely plays heavier on the string with a lot of momentum.

Personally if you really like powerful yoyos I’d consider the warlock but if you’re looking for a more floaty organic the butterball might be up your alley.

In the cooler department, the beater is the winner for me. But I also like performance.

Beater with Summer Tires is extremely capable. It’s awesome with the stock snow tires, but the summer tires really make it fantastic. It’s also 7075, and besides that double rims rule, AND it has a schmoove groove

It’s the best performing organic I have used so far, unfortunately no experience with Butterball or Warlock. I have played a Wizard, and while it was fun, my Beater spun circles around it.

If you are looking for a larger size, then the Warlock is the way to go IMHO, my personal order would be Warlock, Butterball and Beater (but honestly the Beater never clicked with me…)

I have all of these and like the butterball most. It just feels the best in my hand, but I’m smaller. The butterball and noma are my favorite organics I’ve tried.

You can’t go wrong with any of these. The beater and butterball are very similar in feel/play to me.

If you’re looking for large and agile the warlock is the perfect choice. It’s both of these. The G2 Afterlife is another large agile organic I highly recommend if that’s your thing.

Butterball is on the smaller side FYI

Weight (g) 65.9

Diameter (mm) 54.15

Width (mm) 46.84

Of the three you are comparing, the Warlock is the only one that fits both.

Someone already listed Butterball specs, and it’s slightly undersized

Beater’s diameter is 55 even

Warlock’s is 59.9mm

Even though others have already stated that it’s not necessarily on the larger side, if it still fits the diameter specs you are interested in, I REALLY like the Butterball out of all three of those. Easily my favorite Atmos, and up there with my favorite organics in general. I typically like larger, and heavier throws, and while the Butterball definitely doesn’t fall in that group, something about its play is just really nice and flows very well.

Outside of that, if you’re looking for a real honker that’s surprisingly light for it’s size (slimmer) but still comfortable, the RCS Seti is always a fun time, and the TRT Buoy is larger than the Beater and Butterball, but still very agile for certain as well.

Honestly, OneDrop wizard. I own the butterball(favorite organic) the beater( 2nd fav organic) but the OD Wizard is what I play when I want an agile EDC organic. Wizard over the warlock too, just personal preference but I don’t own 3 wizards for no reason.

The butterball and beater are top organics but there’s very little forgiveness because of the high walls.

The wizard/warlock has a little bump in the catch zone that gives a lot of forgiveness but with the size and shape, gives that organic feel too.

Best of luck choosing!

+1 warlock.

+1 wizard. Just included the wizard because the butterball is 6061, the beater and warlock are 7075.

I have played all of these:

Warlock is solid, little beeg but not super bricky.

Beater just feels like a brick at the end of the string, I don’t really like it

Butterball feels super nice, it’s kind of like a grail but more refined feeling, my favorite of the bunch.

I love me some organics and honestly you couldn’t go wrong with any of those but since those three has been diagnosed to death by everyone else I don’t have much I could offer so instead I’ll recommend some awesome alternatives. The trt/mk1 bathysphere, A-rt grail (if you are patient and have deep pockets), RCS Show Pony, G2 afterlife, dressel designs 50/50 if you don’t mind smaller dia, OD overture, yoyofriends koi, and my all-time favorite organic the a-rt/G2 Life is absolutely fantastic
