I’m not sure exactly what that law would be, since I don’t live down there. Here in TN, there are some dry counties where they can’t sell alcohol. So ironically, if you visit the Jack Daniels distillery, you can’t drink on the premises because it’s in a dry county. But in Chattanooga where I live, you can go to the Chattanooga Whiskey Company and take a tour and sample stuff in their bar. So in TN, it’s a county-by-county thing. Probably similar in GA. I know you can drink at Terrapin because they have a taproom where you can try a bunch of stuff, but I’m not sure about Sweetwater.
Some of that stuff is changing though. Jack Daniels is now allowed to sell “commemorative bottles,” so they just make numbered runs that are huge numbers as a kind of workaround. At least that’s how it was last time I checked. Admittedly I don’t really keep up on them.
