One Drop YoYos Official News

Cant wait for those Horsehead benchmarks that I saw on your Flickr =). I am getting an H in the mail tomorrow and already have a V but I traded my O so maybe Ill try to find a Horsehead Benchmark O on BST =).

Al ultralights in the Summit

None. Depends on the Summit. Just look and see. Usually ultralights, spikes, or domes.

I’ve never seen a retail Summit with anything other than ultralights. AFAIK, it’s only different if someone has purchased, swapped, and is selling them along. But that goes for any SE yoyo.

I believe the Paul Dang edition a Cascade ships with ULs instead of domes, but that’s about it.

A store I will not mention custom ordered Summits with Dome Side Effects once. =)

Most definitely not. My musical skills are abysmal.

Well doesn’t the rally sort of have a modified side effect axle system? I know it’s not the same size as regular side effects but it’s pretty much the same concept

Yea they work the same, can be removed the same way as SEs

You sure? I thought they were pressed in.

I’ve removed mine the same away I do SEs plenty of times haha

They don’t work the exact same way as se’s. They have a flat surface that comes in contact with the yoyo while se’s have a rubber O ring that keeps it intact with the yoyo. They come out the same way and serve the same purpose but are designed differently.

I’d like to see the cap of the rally (same shape with logo on it) on side effects

Any chance there will be any Oregon sky or deep space blizzard cascades being shipped soon?

Correct that they do not work the same but the details are a bit different.

Details for everyone:
1.Rallys do not have Side Effects and the nuts are not meant to be removed. Do so at your own risk.
2.Rally nuts are a press fit.
3.Side Effects function using Morse Taper (Taper Lock - google it). The o-ring is only there to hold the Side Effects in while the two halves are apart. The o-rings do not play any role in locking the Side Effects in once the yoyo is assembled.

Make sense?

Yup.

Makes perfect sense!

Out of curiosity, why not full side effects on the Rally? Not enough structural integrity for the morse taper, or just cost prohibitive?

Can this please happen?

Morse taper requires metal on metal friction. Plastic doesn’t work.
