Old School truck anyone?

Drove the truck some more. So much fun to drive, I love it. And the power mixed with the not so great handling makes it an adventure. I looked down and was going somewhere between 70-80 today on a back road lol. It rides pretty smooth. We’re going to try and take it to the next town over this weekend, and see how things go. Can’t really go to far do to the tires. They are in the mayblow state lol. They could last 100 straight miles, or could last 100 feet. You can never tell. The rears were stamped in 83, so that should give you an idea. New tires may take a few weeks, so in tell we get there it’ll be short sweet drives.

Also, here is a picture from probably the mid 80’s. The truck looked a tad different lol And the pic is old, so forgive me for the quality

Went on a little cruise today

Kyle,
I know this goes without saying, but you have no business driving at speeds of 70 to 80 mph on tires that unreliable. I was your age once and did stuff just as risky in my day. Looking back I realize how foolish, maybe even downright stupid, I had been. Just be careful. You’ve got a great vintage truck there, you don’t want to throw it all away on one moment of recklessness.

Sorry to be such a stick-in-the-mud, that’s what old guys like me are assigned to do.

I know buddy lol I didn’t realize I was going that fast. With how its geared, you get there before you realize it. I Didn’t go over 50-60 today. And when I was going that fast it was just for a second. I baby this thing more then you could ever imagine. Has been the love of my life since I could walk.

Sounds great. Take care now.

Nice Avalanche… I want.

Thanks! I love that thing. Its my go to throw, its a fg but It doesnt bother me. The fg vibe really only shows on grinds, or if you pay really really close attention on a fast throw.

I love fools gold Avalanches. Ive gone through a few and they play just as well as regular ones. I have yet to find that colorway on an A-grade one though.
Nice truck too.

I haven’t found one in A grade either. And thanks man! It’ll look better when I get taller tires. It has a lot of rake right now, that annoys me oh so bad.

*Rake is when the rear sits taller than the front. You’ll notice it a lot on drag cars

You might want to add the spare just for looks.

We’ll have another on there sooner or later. I want to change the whole wheel combo, They are in pretty poor shape. But, until then I’m looking for a similar style wheel that is 15x8, that’ll fit the spare spot. The ones on it are 15x10.

30 year old tires are not very safe…

Looks like it’s coming along nicely.

do you own a oil field or does that truck runs on the souls of unwanted children?

but srsly, what’s the fuel consumption of that thing?

oh, and that camaro looks absolutely beautiful :o

Don’t lift it. Keep the Muffler on. Don’t put a light rack on it.

Oh my god. That truck is beautiful. Don’t screw it up

I get about 10-13 mpg and have to run premium. And I wont ever do anything like that haha Its a classic. And is period correct. Once I get the body straight it’ll go back crimson red and have all the factory chrome restored. As for the interior, I want a wood grain wheel. And Its going back to a straight shift, so the ugly floor shifter will be removed.
