New Hobbies or Pets Since COVID-19?

Lol noice. I only ever tried skating once in like 8th grade. It was short lived on a Walmart board and I quit after less than 4 hours.

Got a new puppy on Thursday! We figured there was no better time than a quarantine where we’re home all day.

Thank you! She’s learning. We’re kind of stalling out on rock the baby though. Not having thumbs is a real challenge for her.

Thank you for the offer. I have been a big bug nerd most of my life. I have raised Chinese mantids several times from ootheca. This will be my first with European (I’m assuming but pretty confident by the size and shape.) I’m sure its the same principal though, just feed them smaller prey.

I got deep into the ultimate hipster indulgence, a Swedish Gransfors Bruks axe for light use when camping (of which I barely do any, but would like to) and for further breaking down firewood. This would be my main use since I regularly cook in my wood fired oven in my backyard.

I ended up picking up the small outdoor axe since I’m not felling any trees and although it is supremely overkill for my need I’m pretty excited for it to arrive and to learn how to break down small wood into kindling and feather sticks.

Gratuitous B-Roll heavy video about the two hundred year old Swedish company:

Yes! Let me take some photos and write up an update later today. It’s coming along fantastically. I also have been successfully culturing phytoplankton, amphipods and copepods to feed the corals and fish.

I took some advice from Jeremy Blakemore (not sure if he’s on the forums, but go check out @j3r3myblak3m0r3 on Instagram for sweet JoJo/sk8 content). Then also got OJs for wheels at the advice of a local friend who knows our poor road/sidewalk conditions.
CCS package should ship tomorrow.

We make our own pizzas a lot because my wife is heavily lactose intolerant, and I really shouldn’t be eating it (but sometimes I do anyways). However, I always just use those dough kits from the store, you know, add water, mix, let rise for an hour, then bake…but it was always lacking anything even close to the taste of pizza from a pizza place. So, during this quarantine I have tried 4 different pizza dough recipes, and have finally landed on one I really enjoy. Still not quite like from a pizza shop, but there’s only so much you can do with a home oven and a pizza stone. Here’s from the first batch of this dough recipe, though I just made more dough yesterday and hoping they turn out even better.
(Sorry the picture isn’t great - the lights were low since the baby was napping, so my aperature was pretty much wide open on my camera, and I just wanted to eat it, I mean, just look at it! Also, no editing done to the photo, only thing I did was resize it to make it more upload friendly).
