When Carlo Alberto Menon started Oxygene he had no idea how popular his small premium Italian yo-yo company would be. He founded the company with the hope of getting his yo-yos into the hands of a World Champion, and with his latest model he did just that! This is the Obsidian – Designed in collaboration with Tomonari ‘Black’ Ishiguro!

Tomonari ‘Black’ Ishiguro goes by the name Black (Go check out his Ted Talk if you hvent seen it!) and he is one of the most inspirational and talented yo-yo players around. When he emailed Carlo with some specs for a yo-yo design they immediately began working on it, and despite having a busy work lives, they quickly put together a design that they both agreed on!

The Obsidian, named in honor of Black, is a really fun yo-yo with a refined high-end feel. It is comfortable in the hand and plays light and floaty on the string, but still maintains a strong stability and spin time through combos. Fitted with a Dif-e-yo Konkave Bearing and IrPads for optimum performance and machined with the signature Oxy titanium core that gives the Obsidian a cool look while reducing center weight and providing extra durability.
It’s always a joy to throw new yo-yos from Oxygene, and the Obsidian definitely does not disappoint!
