Everyone knows they make great yoyos at great prices but every time someone clearly pretty new to throwing asks about a certain style of throw, they get recommended mostly obscure boutique brands and all I can think is that YYF makes exactly what they’re looking for at half the price of what every yoyo everyone else has suggested.
It feels like we want the community to benefit from what YYF and Duncan does around the world. Yet is seems as if some of their models are treated like they are just “meh” when compared to the limited runs of boutiques.
Werrd Crew are probably busy organising ANYC at the moment. Adelaide regionals are at their workshop next weekend. Aus has a very small community of adult yoyoers with the time and skills to volunteer for events like this.
I think the new JP Sentinel sold out pretty quickly though, can’t wait to see what’s coming up next.
All my Topyo are excellent. I have 2 colossus VI max that I only use for very bad 3A and they’re super smooth still. The Annihilation mono is one of my favorite inexpensive yoyos. I love playing with it.
My jaw literally dropped when I opened up the email and saw it in the announcement a couple months back. So cool to have seen him going from working with another favorite (but much smaller) band, Future Teens, to arguably the quintessential American band.

Great, more stuff I can’t afford. Heck I don’t even have a turntable anymore, or my eight track, or my reel to reel. Sigh. Freaking digital.
As nice as digital is and I do love it, I also love having physical media of some of my favorites around. I even have some tapes and records that sound better slowed down by ten percent or so! Can’t do that so easily with digital.
