MoonageMin & Twitch's Trick-a-Week Challenge! (2020)

Dude, if I’m being totally honest, you are way better at superflow than I was when I first learned it. That trick beat me. It beat me down so bad and I felt so defeated. I have fought with it for well over a year, and that doesn’t include all my down time from my spine injuries. Just one of those things, that one was really hard for me.

This is very encouraging to hear…so thanks man. It’s frustrating the heck out of me! haha

It’s mostly a combination of elements from the vids @EOS44 posted. The end I modified from that blahmin kid’s. I have no idea what that bind he does is, so I just do the drop from kamikaze and hop it into a grind bind… and then failed to bind cause I actually missed the string placement. The first part is just one or two kamikaze rolls into two superflows.

Also, what yo-yo are you using in this vid? Does it have black rims?

I’m using my red/green Rooster today.

It’s my Blockade. Which I love for this type of stuff. The rims are silver. I have no idea what’s up with the lighting. I think my phone didn’t focus right or something.

Your modified kamikaze is bitchin’! You’re much better at making use of your skillset to be creative. I have a serious lack of creativity. I have to be really good at something before I understand how to be creative with it.

Looking good there buddy!

Love how you give the odd blue steels into the camera haha.

I struggle with the hit the top string and drop on to bottom in to sub mount, and you are doing it so well.

Love the Kwyjibo and finger grind additions.

Great progress!

Supermess is coming along nicely!!
and you are doing the twirly bit of Kamikaze so smooth and quick, I still struggle so much with this and miss it all the time :frowning:
and the triple tower, wattttt!
looks really complicated but you make it looks so easy.
URGH!!! and Sky binds wow… where has all these secret tricks come from!

Hook, I hands down lose here, I can’t land those anywhere near as consecutively as you.

Dat sky bind tho… looks so neat, I should learn as well so that I can end my tricks like that.

Jason sling attempt … i’m only posting cause i got to test my brother’s Ti Shutter Wide today. Sloppy and needs work but it’s only 2 days of practicing that one.

@twitch77, having said that I just gave it a go.
I have to admit though I am cheating, because I’m using an Airetic string for this.

Looking good there Michael!

I think you more or less have it, the combining part is a little tricky though.
Not a difficult trick but co-ordination needs effort.

haha thanks man!

I feel super far away from turning my Supermesses into Superflows. Just had another go at them a bit earlier…and omg…/GRRRRR :rage: I’m totally about to take the trick and kick it in it’s shin! :rage:
lol

I need to work on the tower. Watching myself on camera I can see some things I can improve with it to hopefully make it look better for onlookers…so that’s a really nice thing about filming it. I wouldn’t have known otherwise!

Sky bind is really easy! I think you’ll be surprised!

And I don’t know wtf happened with the Hooks. I went from having a heck of a hard time landing even like 10 of them in 100 attempts…to nailing them. Not perfectly consistent…but MUCH more.

OH OH OH!!!
DO WALK THE DOG WITH IT!!

Lee’s Sling is a whole heck of a lot tougher than I had originally thought it was going to be. haha right after posting the trick I messaged @MoonageMin asking him if he was upset because I picked such an easy trick! lol
Getting those hands to move in opposite directions and at different speeds while not catching the yo on the strings is tough!

Hell yeah man! Way to go!!
/virtual high five

Can you figure out something cool to do after landing a Hook? The string is wrapped around the bearing so I can’t think of what to do with the hook without dismounting which ruins the flow.

I will try!

if you roll over your non throw hand index to the left you will be in a bind

Oh yeah, I know this  It puts you directly into position to bind.

I’m looking to add it to a combo of tricks though. I’d like to do the hook then flow into something else cool before ending with a bind. But I’m not sure how to go about doing this while still making everything flow and look smooth.
The only thing I can think of is dismounting the yo from the string then moving into another trick…but dismounting seems to kill the flow for me and doesn’t look smooth.

haha I have no idea if I’m making any sense right now.
