I nailed a couple more complete Kamikazes tonight!
I keep going up and down (like a yo-yo!!) with my progress on Superflow. I guess I didnāt go down in progress todayā¦in fact, I probably actually made a littleā¦but I feel slow on it and itās still feeling very unnatural.
I keep putting off shooting a video.
Iām committing right now to do so tomorrow.
Iād like to show me fumbling around hopelessly with Superflowā¦hopefully get a complete Kamikaze, a couple of Sky Binds and some Hidemassa hooks.
lol also I like how at the start of these weeks Iām all confident and ready to dominateā¦then by mid week the trickās beat me up a bit and Iām not so enthusiastic anymore! lol
Youāre making awesome progress and having fun, which is all that matters. I love seeing you guys getting better. And hopefully I get better tooāactually, I can finally do Superflow, which is like a weight off my shoulders; that was the first trick that I felt like beat me.
I hope we can keep it going beyond 52 weeks. Seems like the next best thing to hanging with throwers IRL every week.
Speaking of videosā¦ Do you, and everyone else, use your phone to shoot video? Selfy camera or rear camera? Have a tripod or anything?
Itād be so much easier if I had something else to shoot video with that I could setup and leave there. I would use my iPad but it only shoots at 30fps, while my phone does 60fps.
The front camera on newer iPhones(Xs and above at least) is pretty good, almost as good as the similar angle rear facing camera.
Anyway, I donāt have a good place to setup my phone. I have to stack up misc crap and shove aside a bunch of baby toys. Pretty much I have to wait till my wife and kids go to bed before I have a place to film.
Weāre hoping to move in the near future, so Iām insisting on a good throwing space for any house we consider
But for now, is there a tripod or something any of you guys have used? Would be great if I could have that setup and just move it outside the baby gated area when Iām not filming.
Speaking of, love this picture I just took of my lil guy:
Itās a tripod for a phone. But only goes up to 1m height. Still I think these are less that $10 on Amazon.
I will receive it when I got to Malaysia to see them at the end of January.
On hindsight I would have got a tall regular camera tripod and a smart phone grip thing tripod accessory separately to mount on it. So that itās higher
I kind of want a proper set up too. But no money.
What do people use other than a phone or a dslr to shoot videos?
GoPro? Insta360?
All I want is for the video quality to be crisp.
Easy to upload.
Yeah, the tripod and head cost me damn near $300 10 or so years ago. I actually got it for my mom one year for Christmas.
And she never used it once. hahaā¦/grrr
Iāve thought about looking into a better camera for videosā¦but I donāt think Iād use it enough. I have an older DSLR (Canon Rebel XSI) and though it takes great images, it doesnāt shoot video.
Iāve thought about picking up a cheapy knockoff goproā¦but Iām not sure. Maybe if I start taking more progress videos or start getting up into the mountains more again (use to go up at least once a week with my mom. We LOVED going up and sitting next to one of the lakes up there and spending an entire evening sitting by a campfire).
This is what Iāve been using lately if Iām feeling too lazy to get out my real camera. I got a cheap one (think the brand is āEkenā) for like $50. Can shoot 1080p at 60fps so you can add a little bit of slow mo in post if you want, and they have the wide angle lens on them, so you donāt have to worry so much about being in frame.
Doesnāt seem to get very tall (4āish feet)ā¦but you can always put it on top of something if you need additional height.
Itās got a ton of good reviews though and would be way better than what youāre using now. I like that it includes a light with it too.
