This week, like @Ryanmcg said, weâre starting to work on speed combosâŚand in particular weâre working on the âSub MountââŚwhich leads into the trick Superflow weâre also working on.
I donât think we can post videos from yo tricks(.)com because itâs a competing store.
But if you search âyoyo sub mountâ on youtube, it should be the first video that comes up.
Same thing with Superflow. Search youtube for âyoyo superflowâ and it should be the first video.
Hereâs another video I can post here on the trick:
As @ryanmcg & @twitch77 mentioned and well summarised by both of them this is a free to participate.
Basically the only rule of this challenge is to have fun.
The only goal is to be a little better this week at yoyoing, than you were the previous week.
The purpose of this challenge is letâs all get better together and share your struggles and victories with a group of people going through the same challenges of a particular trick at the same time as you.
So naturally everyone is welcome no matter you skill level, age, etc.
So if you see a challenge you can already do, just get creative, do it horizontally, reverse, add elements etc.
Also itâs only week #3 so itâs a great time to join in.
Week #1 was Kamikaze
Week #2 was Jason Leeâs Sling
Week #3 (aka this week) we are working on a combination of beginner speed combo and superflow.
So the idea for this week is to be able to do sub mount/z flip mount/speed combo mount (same thing different names) and going from there into and back out of 1.5, double or nothing, kamikaze mounts.
Added together with that the super flow element from a 1.5 mount and you have loads of bits to get creative.
add rolls to it, Twitch likes to add pin wheels to the start (only because he canât go straight into a Trapeze, but you didnât hear that from me) combine elements, add in other tricks, you get the basic idea, pivot around the sub mount and super flow and make up your own combos! Creativity is key here, Twitch even did a full body grind which oddly isnât called the barrel roll.
Have fun, and good to have you on board, the current plan is for 52 weeks, but who knows this could die early (hope not) if a certain green monster loses interest mid way, or it could carry on going even after 1 year!
Haha, as long as I donât have to pay import customs tax, please send them my way, you know for science.
Dude I struggle a lot with most tricks, I probably struggle more than most, itâs just I put more time in than most people. The struggle is real, and I can fully appreciate watching other people struggle as well helps. Why else do you think I invited you and @ryanmcg to join me haha.
Yes! No. We all feel a little bit better seeing everyone else not be perfect, or in our case, not even good
I like watching tutorials where they donât do extra takes to remove every mistake. It makes me feel better, knowing Iâm learning from someone who had to work at it; itâs less intimidating, and I find it helpful seeing where good players mess up. Itâs also helpful to see how to pick up from a mistake and keep going with the trick. Starting from the top every time can be really unproductive.
@YoYoExpertGarrett
Could we have a ruling.
For the purpose of this thread are sharing any tutorials that are associated with stores allowed?
Such as tricks, similar to slushie etc.
We donât want to cause any violations
Same here - Iâm going to try and keep this going all the way through. I think itâs a great thing to set these weekly goals, and it will be cool to look back on doing Kamikaze on week 1 to whatever tricks we will have progressed to by something like week 40. I think we (@MoonageMin, @ryanmcg, @twitch77, and myself) will keep each other motivated. If thereâs a week where one of us isnât feeling it as much, maybe seeing the others posting will give you that little bit of kick of motivation. For we are the Core Four! pumps fist
Though I do hope we pick up people along the way, and Iâm sure some people will fall off along the way, but Iâm looking forward to the journey with you fine gents.
I also plan on completing the challenge I set. So we should have advanced when we look back next year. Like right now as an example I canât remember why I found matrix so difficult.
I fully expect us to be just banging out kamikazeâs and whatever else we have planned so casually while in full chat maintaining eye contact
You can do the first two if you want, or just start with this weekâs. Up to you.
We post them right here. Just scroll waaaay up and youâll see a lot of videos of people mostly sucking at yo-yo Except @shatterFX, heâs pretty darn good, and @Oroboryo isnât too shabby either, even if he did fail to do a video last week. My goal every week is âsuck lessâ; so far so good.
I actually have a pretty sweet combo down for this week, but Iâve only landed it once so far and Iâm just hoping I can get a good run recorded.
So the original first post gets updated with tricks. The people signed up doesnât get updated anymore because we bypassed 10 and I can only tag a maximum of 10 people.
So the trick gets listed on
the first original post up top. You can get there by clicking on the thread title.
every Sundays a new trick gets announced for the next week
Donât feel the rush to catch up. Each trick is normally not a prerequisite of the week after. So just keep those as to learn list. Start from this weekâs trick so you can feel more involved. Share your progress to others ask questions help others etc. And on weeks you finish that weeks trick early start working on the other ones that came before
Lol thanks bud! I almost feel like Iâm cheating a little bit because Iâm like a year further along than you guys, but I donât really have anyone else to do things like this with, so yall will just have to put up with me lol.
