Monsoon by Dressel Designs! - Available Tonight! - 7pm ET!

Monsoon-Feature
Dressel Designs takes on the oversized concept with their latest creation, the Monsoon. Serious in performance yet full of playful character, this yo-yo captures the fun of dancing in the rain while delivering the power and control of a true storm.

Inspired by the classic A-RT 420, the Monsoon brings a fresh approach to oversized yo-yos. Instead of following the trend of making the throw wider they have decided to push the envelope with the diameter instead. Despite its 63mm diameter, it plays incredibly light and fast on the string, weighing in at just 63.9 grams. The result is a yo-yo that feels nimble and effortless, offering a big presence without the sluggish feel often associated with oversized models.

Each Monsoon features the incredible artwork of Aspen Troutman, adding a personal and artistic touch to every throw. Available in a range of stunning colorways, each Monsoon (except the unengraved Silver with Dark Gray Splash) features a smooth bead-blasted finish for clean grinds and a premium feel.

A few pieces have tiny anodizing pin pricks in the cup, reflected in the lower price point.

Trying to decide if I’m gonna grab one of these. I really like the acid wash one. I’m going to flip a coin.

Like for real it’s such a nice looking yoyo. It’s definitely on the large diameter end but it’s a fun throw.

I thought I was going to go for the purple this whole week, but something about the red/yellow Autumn acid wash just looked right, and pulled me in minutes before.

Just came in the mail. I was afraid of the diameter before I got it but everything about it feels pretty great! I love the snappy binds even when I get a little sloppy. The weight is very pleasing and it feels great to hold and in catches. It even sounds good. The shape is very comfortable. I like it a lot! Great job designing this yoyo!

Got mine in and had some time to play with it. Seconding the comfort praise. I really like the width to diameter ratio, it’s very close to the ratios on JB Secret Slim, Recess Firecracker; on the wider side of “slim”. Plays fast and stable enough, lots of fun. One of the most well-rounded at this size.

Love the shape, the wall climb, the hub; very distinct. The engraving art is wonderful, different on both sides. The acid washes gorgeous and I had a hard time choosing but happy either way. I hope many people get to try this one.

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah the big diameter kinda makes it feel slimmer with the dimension ratio while still being a somewhat normal width at the same time. Glad you enjoy that aspect of it.

The shape was fun to draw too. It’s got some extra pizazz or Je ne sais quoi like most Dressels :joy:

Got mine in yesterday and got to spend some time with it today. I wasn’t prepared for how large it is but I love it. The shape is different than all the other extra large throws I have and I am having a ton of fun with it.

I’m surprised more people haven’t mentioned the satisfying sounds it makes on binds, it was what I feel in love with straight away
