So I took all my yo-yos on my trip to Tennessee and I can honestly say that the undersized is where I want to be. I took my forma and I’ll be honest with you. I don’t like how big it is. I do not like the chunkiness of a big yo-yo. As a matter of fact, I don’t like the forma at all. I feel that I’m not going back from the undersized.
I bought the Turner tops sprout and I’m wondering what else is coming to the market that is undersized. I think MK1 has one called The lossless.
I definitely found where I want to be in the yo-yo game. I get it bigger yoyos easy tricks this and that I just don’t like them. I already sold my MK1 ring bearer and it went to a good person. I’m not sure if I’m going to sell the forma only because I got a couple dings in it now so I might just use it for a beater.
The Motion Positional is technically not undersized but while actually using it, the size feels very similar to the Adrenaline SS to me. I think it’s because the measured diameter comes from that small ridge on the outer rim which doesn’t have much impact on the hand feel.
They’re both very good yoyos but the Positional honestly might end up being my favourite yoyo of all time. The Adrenaline is very good but slightly more sluggish and less powerful (I have the C version fyi).
I think going from 50 to 52-53mm makes a big difference for performance and it’s hard for older yoyos in that classic undersized category (back when the Peak was a fullsized yoyo) like the 888 to compete.
It says that my sprout comes Friday, but it might be here sooner. We’ll see what happens in shipping, but I’m excited to get my hands on it and see how it is
I already have the perpendicular in like a red color with brass rings and it’s one of my favorite yo-yos. I’m going to hold off on the positional. One being you know it’s 54 mm so I’m not really interested.
Plus I have to be honest with you. The colors are ugly. I’m not trying to be like that but I’m looking for you know like cool design stuff.
That’s the one thing I’ve noticed about. A lot of the yo-yos is there’s no cool designs. They’re either one solid color or they’re just basic and then you get your typical splash or lines. There’s no cool themed ones
I grabbed an orange one with “bigger spots” and the spots are absolutely no big deal, I even kind of like the way they look, so don’t hesitate to go for one of the cheaper ones.
