Anybody ordering the new Gentry Stein mini yoyo

Wondering if anybody here is going to order that new Gentry Steins mini yoyo it looks like it’s a trimetal looks pretty cool though I was watching him play it in a video and it looks super fun

I recently tried an Outlier Mini and I was very disappointed by its power and catchability on the string, if you want a fun yoyo go for a budget monometal. A mini yoyo is not worth the struggle to get used to it imo

I have the Yoyofriends Mini Peregrine X, that one is loads of fun. Uses a D bearing, better for that size of yoyo.

Even ignoring the baggage that comes with being a YYF yo-yo, it just seems like a combination of gimmicks that will result in a poorly playing yo-yo tbh. Mini yo-yos already have poor performance due to the compromises their size entails, and fingerspin hubs just further decrease performance. And I’m sure it’ll be expensive to boot.

It’s gentry steins own creation. It’s not on yyf its on his page. He has videos on his Facebook showing how it plays.

It looks solid but thats also coming from a world champion who plays like a monster so he makes it look easy.

He’s not eoth yoyo factory anymore I know he started his own brand making his own yoyos

His brand is owned by Yoyofactory on paper (they own the trademark filing) but it’s definitely a step farther away compared to before.

It looks comparable in size to the Sprout, but with less rim weight

Are there plans to run any more of those big guys @Grunt? I’m sad I missed one

@Raindog3030 decides all that stuff. I’m just here to spread the word.

Looking at the graphic design style too, it looks very YYF. Pretty sure his “company” is just a subsidiary of YYF, plenty of re-brands. Looks like it could be a fun yoyo but I think I’m gonna hold for now. Not gonna lie though, I do kind of dig the black/green and the silver/aqua.

I know mini yoyos lack the same performance as a full size yoyo and that’s half the challenge. Myself, I’m a sucker for tiny yoyos and got quite a few in the collection. I need to find my Arc1 Gemstones, that one has fingerspin hubs, just very challenging to pull off

Speaking of the Gemstones, technically that’s the “world’s first tri-material mini dna-capable yoyo” with its PC body, steel rims, aluminum hub.

Sprouts? Yes, one day… in tha future! Sorry, no definitive plans yet but we absolutely plan to make more.

We have one more release before the end of the year and then we’re going to see our 1st player signature early next year :confetti_ball:
