I love bimetals. I crave the rimweighted POWER and I love the feel on the string. The rings on most of my bimetals are great for visibility too.

I have a lot more monometals than bimetals, partly due to cost, and partly due to a lot of my favorite brands not making bimetals. I like both equally. I have great performers and not so great performers of both types. If I really need the extra power and spin time for learning a longer combo, I’ll grab a bimetal first usually.

Then you also have plastics, delrin, hybrids, magnesium, trimetals. Variety is the slice of life.

I like both equally, sometimes I crave a bit of monometal playing, that solid feeling of “one body” I do like it but usually I go with bimetals if I have to create tricks or practice hard stuff. It depend of the mood, ngl I would love a good delrin or plastic, I do not have any in my collection!

Monometals. There are a few bimetals that I’ve loved (e.g. Edge 2022, Batsquatch), but I really like how a well-crafted monometal can have all the power and spin time I could ever want, good stability, etc. without the rim-weighted inertia. Plus, I prefer the feeling of throwing one solid object vs. feeling like I’m only throwing two rings on a string. The fact that they’re cheaper and more durable doesn’t hurt, either.

If hybrids entered the conversation, this would be tough. I’ve been loving my OG Hybrid Fulvia and DD Monarch. Perhaps it’s because they both use aluminum rims, which doesn’t make them overly rim-weighted. If anyone wants to donate an Iceberg, I can test that theory (for science, of course ).
