We can in some ways. We can’t easily replicate the RBC’s sheer comfort, but we can bring out a modern responsive with higher performance.

I think the KNack is just the right size to be great at both though!

I’m not really interested in that.

Even as a metal responsive design, the KNack wouldn’t work quite right. It will either be too small or too heavy.

I voted unresponsive. But I don’t care as long as it is something different. Maybe stainless? There’s tons of shapes and sizes that aren’t common. Maybe polished or anodized. Hollow body? And a name that is understandable and relatable to the design.
Thank you for asking. I think it’s something simple that most companies don’t do. Then they wonder why some products don’t sell as well as they wished.

That’s fair.

Would love an unresponsive this time round since the RBC was a responsive release.
A material like stainless steel would be great. There’s still not many around in steel these days.

A large unresponsive RBC would be legit, like the doorknob but RBC

I’d like a delrin RBC or lower price bracket solid body that would be sub $50 if we’re stuck on RBC mode.

My kid still loves her RBC, but I doubt many would hand an expensive throw to an 8 yr old.

The shape is perfect for little hands and it’d have a huge influence on kids knowing what a good throw is compared to something you get at a big box retailer for $5-7 that they lose interest in faster than a yo-ball.

P.s. re-imagine the yo-ball (re-branded as yoyo-ball). The perfect Mace weapon for kids inflicting self injury from late 70s to mid 80s.

A delrin RBC simply isn’t possible from a machining perspective, plus it would end up no cheaper at all, probably even more expensive as we would have to develop metal spacers etc to do it.

The machining of the RBC presented significiant difficulties which is somewhat reflected in the price, because FPM needed to charge us more. FPM even had to make custom tools and anodising racks to produce it which is very interesting to me as I made my own custom tools to make the Bloodcell.

Oh well. On to the yoyo ball then…

Could make a tiny and completely solid AL one. That wouldn’t cost too much. It would ptobably be 40mm though.

Ngl the idea of unresponsive throw by MK1 x Spinworthy sounds incredibly intriguing. DO WANT!

We have a design already… Not sure if we’re going to pull the trigger on the protos for it just yet.

A spinworthy x mk1 unresponsive throw sounds amazing !!! DO IT GLEN !!! the RBC was (is) probably one of the best metal responsive yo-yos of all time. Now it’s time to go full on unresponsive and give the people what they need. Don’t hold back Glen !!!

A Titanium KNack might be light enough at original size.

I would rather not use titanium for anything.

Has anyone ever done a wood/metal hybrid? Would that even work?

I’m sure you could put some kind of metal rims around or in the cups.

@Glenacius_K I like the idea of an XL RBC something around 58-59mm but maintaining the same width. I would keep the guts the same, the beefcake trick could allow for unresponsive play, but still keep it designed for responsive play.

I’m holding out hope for a tin/balsa wood hybrid unresponsive.
