Lubing ceramic bearings?

Do you do it? Do you not? I’ve heard yes and no from multiple reliable sources, and Its left me with no idea of what to do.

When I get a new ceramic KonKave bearing I deshield it and use compressed air to blow out the oil from the factory. I don’t clean it first. They play fantastic.

Yes, you can, I’ve done it and it works fine. Thin oil obviously.

Whether you should or not, I don’t know. Probably the same rule applies as metal bearings… it’s strictly a noise reduction and life extender, not required for yo-yo usage.

One nice thing about ceramic bearings is you can clean them with dish soap and water. I’ve had success dry lubing mine.
