Why did this have to be on the fat tire, this colorway is amazing.

If that was a mildly normal yoyo I’d have instantly tried to acquire. Ideally a Reboot? Flat Reboot rims would keep that super nice color separation.

I’m getting a little disappointed at this point, don’t get me wrong most of you know I’m a big OD guy and I do enjoy their niche throws (one of them being a favorite of mine), but man, why can’t the majority of us just get what we want? You put this colorway on a Free Solo or a Reboot like Mable said and you’d be bagillion-airs.

I hope this means regular anodized FT 20/20s will be available again.

One time many years ago I was walking around a historic “old town” near me when I stumbled upon a toy store. I saw Gundams in the window and immediately knew I wanted to check it out.

I walk inside and what greets me from a display case I will never forget; they had aluminum yoyos. I have never seen a modern day unresponsive in a store at this point, so my mind is racing with all the money I’m about to drop here. My gaze lowers below the row of YYF One’s and Velocities, where I see three aluminum yoyos of the same shape, with different color anodize. I lean in slightly to feed my curiosity and what else do I see but THREE FAT TIRES

Imagine my dissapointment. It could have been literally anything, yet they had One-Drops, my favorite, in a model, which is far from favorable in my eyes. I didnt want to walk out empy handed after the nice salesperson showed me the yoyos, so I left with a YYF plastic Wedge.

Now whenever I see a Fat Tire all I can think about is the rollercoaster of emotions I felt that day that ended in disappointment… yet here we are… yet again, the Fat Tire continues its cursed legacy.

Are they seriously just majoring on making fat tires lately?

Im wondering if they just have a heap that are in stock that they are not selling so their solution is to cerakote them to make them more saleable? I hope that’s not the case.

IIRC, this is the third release of the 20/20 version of the Fat Tire (initial plus two Cerakote drops).

They have produced about a dozen other models over the last year.

So if they’ve done three runs of the fat tyre, maybe they are in fact very popular?

I would venture to guess that sales are satisfactory.

It is also David’s quasi signature yo-yo, so it seems expected that it would get some extra attention.

If you Cerakote it - the fans will buy.

Is it actually possible that they have so many fat tires left unsold that they just "modify’ them in cherakote to sell them?

Skills.

I just said that a few posts earlier.

Sorry, missed the post but I think this can be a quite real possibility because is quite impossible to explain, reading the forum it seems like no one really liked the Fat tire, i mean is becoming even a meme

The fact that they have not been available even direct from OD suggests to me that there is no unsold glut.

All that suggests is they are not for sale. They could have plenty of inventory marked for cerakoting.

In their defense, they’ve done three other new releases this year, besides the Fat Tire 20/20. Has anyone else put out four new throws so far this year?
That being said, it does seem like they make a lot of Fat Tires.

They ran the same playbook for the Wyvern, which was also new in 2023. One run anno, one run solid cerakote, one run two-tone.
