I didn’t have any problem buying a Summit 1 back in 2013. Didn’t even buy it on the release day. All colors were still available plenty on yye.

I was able to grab the Jawbreaker Summit 2, but missed the Peak last night. Just sold my entire collection yesterday and this will now be my only forever yoyo very grateful

Things moved more slowly back then. I feel like the yoyoing scene has gotten a little larger, while anodising capacity isn’t what it was back then.

Idk the Chief used to sell out like that, people just didn’t care for the Summit as much as people do now.
I also bought the OG Chief on a random day back then. Maybe I was just lucky, but I don’t think the hype was ever to the level where people have to buy on the first minute it got dropped. And we didn’t have bots back then.

There is 20 years worth of accumulated interest in some of these yo-yos, and a lot more of it is now backed by adult-level disposable income.

i’ll tell you why, because that nostalgia is being captured on the summit 2. I think CL has lost that instant sell out feel that used to have on a lot of their stuff. it’s been almost 10 or so years (i forget when og came out) when the summit 1 came out is around that time the chief and other popular throws came out so it is just just nice to have the one drop machining again, maybe not the og colorways but the machining is way different and imo just more smoother just like the old ones played.

A lot of newer CLYW stuff just feels like it could be made by any company, and the machining is definitely a factor in that.

Legacy peak is more nimble that the second run peak, but similar feel for sure. It plays more like a third run.

This is the first time I’ve heard of Tinman and it looks cool.
Now that the craziness is over, I"m super pumped to see what the next colorway dropping @ Worlds will be!

I have a recent package that should be delivered today that also went up to New England for a minute but fortunately they sent it back down to PA, not over to PR. Best of luck, that is the worst!!
