I’m checking every half hour or so…someone got only one wrong. If no one takes the win…that person gets the prize. I think someone can guess them all though. We’ll see. I got some great entries though, some of you guys are pros.
I can’t wait to see which ones they are. I think I was pretty close so I’m hoping it was me I know the one I got wrong for sure that I should’ve changed with the answer I think it is. Best of luck to everyone
No problem, as long as I know there is still some interest, I can hold off on things. I thought this would start and end tonight, sort of a quickie for a contest. The person who got one wrong sent the entry very soon after 9pm. Also, every yo-yo in the video has been guessed correctly by more than one person, which means they are identifiable. I thought it would be easier, but it’s easy for me just because I own the throws and picked them. I will monitor the activity and give people a chance to still put an entry in. I think midnight is reasonable, but I can hold off making an announcement until the morning.
I knew you guys would be surprised at that part. I think not having them in holders would make it too easy. Someone almost won this just after 9pm, with only one wrong, so if there was no holder, it would be like a 30 second contest. Also, I had to play angles a bit to make it at least a slight bit challenging. I do the contests to give back and promote the holders, so I have to work the holders in, at least for now, while the product is in the early stages. I will do all different kinds of contests in the future too…all unorthodox, but eventually, I’ll ask people to yo-yo as is the standard. Everyone who participated with an entry will be on a list for future giveaways, so the effort is not lost even if people don’t win the prize for tonight. I appreciate people participating and taking an interest.
No…this contest will have a definite winner, even if I have to give the win to a person with one wrong. But, for those who don’t win, I will put their name on a list for the future giveaways…that way they still have a chance to win something from me down the road. I might just do a giveaway and pull a name out of a hat or something later…people will be shocked and won’t even remember their name was entered automatically cause they participated in a prior contest.
That is very generous of you, but I have a better idea for the throws you have. Forum member Fellavader is collecting donations for throws, used ones are okay, as he is running the NH yoyo club and he just got made Yomega Ambassador. He will be teaching yoyoing to others and needs descent beginner throws to use during classes, so he can demonstrate and have something for the kids to use temporarily during class. I will post about it tomorrow. I will always have contests and such, so this will be one of many. I will make an announcement sometime after midnight, as entries have slowed down now.
This contest was expected to start and end in the same night, something quick, so anyone still working on it should PM me their answers as soon as possible, and I will announce the winner and post the answers in the morning. I’ll cut the entries off at 12:30AM.
Hi guys, I decided to end this one at 12:30AM for several reasons:
Entries slowed down to a halt anyway, as everyone who was interested in really making a serious effort had already sent me their entry by then anyway.
I wanted this to be a quick one that started and ended the same night.
I want to still keep it fair. I think those who got in early and guessed near perfect should not be outdone by someone who had all night to watch the video, and got it perfect.
I thought this would have been done in about an hour, but it was a bit more challenging than I thought. I made the contest after I made the video, which accounts for some of the strange angles you got to see the yo-yos. I think it is good the throws were in holders to give it a bit more of a challenge. Someone actually got only one wrong within the first 15 minutes of the video posted. Another few people got only two wrong after messaging me in only 8 or 9 minutes. Keep in mind that each yo-yo was guessed more than once in entries, which means they were identified by some of you from what was visible in the video. I can tell some of you are really into your throws.
I want to give the prize away, as there will be other contests anyway, and I think those of you who logged in at 9PM to view the video and participate are owed that. In light of that, I am awarding the prize to the person who guessed the most yo-yos correct, and that is…YoMagic!
Yomagic PMed me his entry at 9:14PM, with 8 out of 9 yo-yos correctly identified. The only one he missed is the Dingo he thought was an M1. I am impressed with anyone who can guess that many yo-yos in less than 15 minutes…and the video is more than two minutes long…so he guessed them in no time at all. Some other impressive entries were SR, who only had one wrong and PMed me at 9:20. I will send him a $15 certificate as a second place, although there was no second, he only had one wrong too and PMed me fast. Other great entries were Jayyo who messaged me in only 8 minutes and had only two incorrect, same for YoyoSpirit, like125cats and yoyomaverickgt…all great entries that came in relatively quickly.
Now, I’ll add the answers and the frames I thought made the yo-yos the most visible in the video, plus other clues from the forum and such…
Yoyojam Dark Magic II- Reveals itself practically the whole video, the easiest to recognize. It is the yo-yo I model in the holders most often, so those of you who pay attention to that kind of thing had an edge beyond the video. It is part of my Avatar at the moment.
Xcube Lagoutte - Begins to reveal itself more about :39, but when I model a yo-yo in a holder with gold metal, I use this yo-yo often as it’s one of the few gold yo-yos I own. Those of you who noticed me always using this yo-yo may have had a clue, but that center is a dead giveaway if you saw it. 2:14 too.
Oxygene Oxy5- Obvious about :57, it is also in the promo video on the product page for the holders. Those of you who watched it have seen it in a holder before.
C3yoyoDesign Halo about 1:17 you can see it real good, the delrin color and hub are a dead giveaway.
One Drop Dingo about 1:08 & 1:29 & 2:14 you can see real good, to get this one you would have to consider the size next to the Genesis and the others and realize how small the yo-yo is, that’s a big clue. It is more of a “modified” shape, but still fits in the holder. One of the most difficult to recognize based on the angles you were given, it was confused for an M1 or Yfactor.
YYF Genesis, small bearing one actually, you can see it good 1:35 and was one of the easiest to spot
One Drop MMN 1:44 it reveals itself good, but I think most of you knew it as soon as you saw it anyway.
General Yo Torrent II 1:52 you get a peek, Color scheme is a giveaway too. I think some of you thought it was a Hatrick.
3yo3 Cosmo 2:12 - 2:14, a dead giveaway 3yo3, and the shape should have narrowed it down for you. I modeled this in the pics on the forum with the holder with the crystals in it.
Yomagic, PM me your email address (make sure it’s accurate), and I will forward your certificate for the $25 today.
Wow! Awesome thanks for the giveaway I cant believe I didn’t put dingo. That’s the other one I was contemplating on writing but decided not too haha. I’ll pm you now.
