With my back and neck… and shoulder… Maybe easier to list what’s not bleeped up… I don’t like doing them either. Doing it anyway. But probably going to get stuck on the hook. I can do it, just not consistently enough to have a good chance of completing the trick cleanly.
It’s partially that I can’t seem to fully figure them out.
But it’s also that it’s not really a good trick IMO. Not visually interesting, the motion is awkward and unnatural, and you’re just spinning the yo-yo around like a more complex around the world.
Agreed mostly, but I like it in the first trick here. Only use of figure 8 I’ve liked. It flows nicely into the 1.5 underpass element.
I played with it a lot before my neck problems got worse and I had to stop yoyoing (in some ways I’m still catching back up to where I was over a year ago), but I haven’t done it since because it always felt so clumsy.
I’m not a fan of figure 8s either and I like the first trick too. I do it every time I practice now. You should bang out the second trick first if you’re still struggling with the first. It is a whole lot easier IMO.

I’ve been yoyoing longer than most of these posters have been alive, but I feel a bit like a noob/dunce! To be fair, balancing running a start up; while maintaining my needed previous income stream, keeping my musical chops up, and raising a family, doesn’t leave me too much time to concentrate on this one contest. Still…
