Getting into fixed axle again and I figured. What the hell? Buy some of that good string. But every thrown I’ve been tossing it on has been straight up unresponsive, which is killing the vibe.
What do?
I know I could’ve searched this issue but then I wouldn’t get to chat with you lovely folk.
Kot-n has a break in period but it gets there it is so.e really great string and last a long time. Crank the torsion really tight so that you get some response. Do some gravity pulls and after a few minutes you should be good. What yoyo have you tried it with?
Threw it on a new (to me) fallen 44, and my Apollo pro. Just as unsresponsive as could be. But I’ll crack that tension and live without kickflips for a bit.
Pinch the string directly above the yoyo then spin the yoyo 5-10 times to tighten the string around the axle. While holding this tension around the axle carefully wind the yoyo up with out letting it come loose. Throw a few sleepers. Now you should be good to go.
I just put on a fresh [kot-n] on this morning. Threw an outside UFO to Sleeping Beauty, I do a lot of Planet Hops and a lot of Paddle Balls. Then I do a dozen or so Shoot the Moons to Stretch and Double or Nothing Fly Outs. The string is warmed up by now, I let it sit wound up for a few minutes. When I go back and play again, do some Sidewinders and tension and response will typically be consistent for weeks for Flips and Slack Loop Stalls. Remember to Have Fun, I always enjoy breaking in strings and response.
kot-n has a bit of a break in period you can work through it a bit by throwing several hard sleepers or other tricks that work in the string. Once it breaks in it lasts a long time and is one of the best cotton I’ve played but there is some annoyance initially.
